It was now April. It was more green than usual and Luke teased me that my eyes were leaking out into nature, so I hit him and called him rude and accused him of calling me blind (which I pretty much was). But another thing that came along with April was prom, the one thing I wasn't ready for. I mean I was ready for college but not some stupid dance.
"What about this one?" Kirsten asked as she came out in a white dress that reached her knees.
"This is prom, not homecoming. And it's white. What if you get your period?" I said as I had maybe twelve dresses on my lap. I didn't really enjoy dress shopping, nor did I enjoy the fact I was "the chair".
"Well help me pick one!"
"I don't even have one!" I struggled to wave my arms, or move them at all as I picked up the heavy dresses and plopped them back in the chair. She glared at me and I glared back before going through the large store to find a dress.

Stop being a sasquatch.
I stopped texting him after that, looking through the racks for something I found fashionable, my size and my price. I wasn't looking for some big poofy thing, nor did I want something that was slutty or that showed off my body (even though that's probably something Luke would prefer).
As my fingers skimmed along the various materials, they stopped on a burgundy one. It was full length (like traditional dresses) and it flared slightly at the waist. There was a slit up the side and it exposed silver mesh underneath. It cut off at the top of the chest and had a faux corset back. I felt my stomach start to drop at how perfect it was for me.
"Kirsten I found it!" I shouted into the dressing rooms as I pulled the dress into a dressing room and began to get undressed so I could try it on.
"What does it look like?" I saw her shoes standing in front of the dressing room door and I threw my shirt at them.
"Give me a minute so I can get the zipper up," I said through struggled breaths. I wasn't the most flexible and even though Kirsten had seen me in a bra, the people who worked at the store hadn't and they didn't need to. "Okay ready?"
"Yeah hurry it up," she said and I opened the door, pulling the skirt and walking out in front of her. I took advantage of the full length mirrors and looked at myself. "Christine, you look beautiful," she said walking next to me.
"This is the one," I said as I flattened my palms against my stomach. "Let me tell Luke," I said rushing back into the dressing room and sitting down on the bench to text him.
