"Master, I do not believe that he will be healed. I can sense that he's filled with nothing but rage." Zenyatta calmly places his hand on your shoulder, to try and relieve you some of your doubts about Genji. For days, Genji subjected himself to solitude in his room, only coming out to eat and train. Rarely times to even relax. "I don't believe that he's the person that you think of him as. Give him time, pupil." He turns away and goes back into his study, leaving you to contemplate on your thoughts.

You decided to give his words a bit of faith, as you went along to the kitchen to prepare meals for yourself and Genji. The day Zenyatta brought him back to Numbani, you kind of freaked out a little at the sight of Genji and you still never apologized for it. Although you never thought he was not at all bad-looking, his appearance just surprised you. "Maybe I should finally apologize..." You thought to yourself as you placed the food on the table and on the clockwork, Genji emerges from the hallway and seats himself at the table.

"Good evening, Genji." You said as you sat yourself on the opposite side of the table as you began to ate. His response was silent, but you ignored it. Besides, it's not like you knew what was going on through his head. There was really no point in getting mad, so all you could do was wait until he decided it was time for him to say something significant.

As time passed, you both had finished your meals and cleaned up the mess in the kitchen. It was slightly awkward for you, since you were used too doing the chore on your own. Although, it was nice to have a little help now ever since he came. Once the job was done, you started to yawn and gently patted his metallic back as you walked back to your room. "Goodnight, Genji. Rest well." Genji watches you go back to your room as he stares down at his hands, examining his human and robotic features. He tightly gripped his fists as he went back into his room.

The next day, you caught him at one of those rare events where he was just relaxing. You spotted him gazing at the clear sky on the balcony, wasting his time away in thought. You decided to check up on him, as you jumped up to him and sat on the railings beside where he was standing. "How's it going?" You asked as you turned to him, he was still looking up at the sky in complete silence. Genji sighed softly, as he turned around and tries to walk back into the building, until you decided to stop him. "Look, I'm trying my best to make you feel at home here. Don't you have anything to say at all?" You mumbled in annoyance as you walked in front of him to glare at his face. His face was covered in a mask, so all you could do was stare into the bright green haze where his eyes are supposed to be located.

"I do not want anything to do with you right now. So please, leave me be." He growled softly as he tries to walk past you, but you quickly move in front of him ultimately blocking his path. "Not until you tell me what's wrong. All you've been doing is locking yourself up in your room and not saying anything for the past months. Well, it's time to open up!" You exclaimed. He tries to shove you out of the way, but you were persistent. "What is it with you women? Wanting to know everything..." He grumbled as he grabbed you and forcefully sat you in a nearby chair before sitting beside you.

"Because we're awesome. Hellloooo?" You answered jokingly as you laughed softly before turning your head to him. He shook his head in response as he placed his hand around his mask and takes it off, placing it on the small table in front of you two. You bounced up to get a glimpse at the part of his face he revealed. You could tell he has quite a bit of scars, but all you could really look at were his dark orbs staring back at you. They were filled with pain...and sadness.

"What...happened to you?" You questioned as you slowly sat yourself back down, taking the mask that he placed on the table into your hands, running your fingers against the smooth metal. "What my god-forsaken clan did for my whole life."

You carefully listened to Genji's story, noting each detail he had described from his youth up until adulthood. The terrifying events he recalled shocked you, but you were determined to learn more about his past and maybe even more about him personally. Once his story ended, he got up and took the mask from you and placed it back on. "Now if you will excuse me, I will be headed back to my room." You quickly grabbed his arm and held it tightly.

"Don't leave." You whispered softly as you brought him back, seated next to you. "What an awful experience you had...How did you even survive this long?" You asked. He sighed softly as he looked at you and patted you head gently, catching you off guard a little by his sudden movement. "You begin to feel numb to those types of things, I suppose. Even as what I am now, I still continue to feel nothing." His response was a bit alarming. You turned to him and pulled him in a tight embrace, his head tilting at you in confusion.

"Ms. ______? Why do you care so much for how I feel?" Genji asks as you held him tighter, whispering softly. "It's because you don't deserve to stay the way you are now, Genji. I...I will not allow you to fall into a world where you're just a hollow shell."
