********************When I reached home, everyone had already come back from Aunt Mary's house, sitting and chatting on sofa.
"Adam, where were you? I thought you would be home already, when we come back." Mom said rubbing her feet, surely she isn't very comfortable in heels. Although she has to wear them most of the times.
"I was with a friend doing some work, mom." I told, kissing her cheek.
"Adam, Aunt Mary sent you her cookies. She always asks about you. It is fun to be there." Dad told me. I could see Greg laughing silently, clearly remembering the reason why I avoid going to Aunt Mary's house. I threw a pillow over his face saying, "Shut Up, Greg."
"You know; I don't have a problem with her. I have problem with Alexa, her neighbour. She comes in even uninvited. I don't want to repeat what happened the last time, I was there." I shrugged remembering.
Alexa is Aunt Mary's neighbour's daughter. She is kind of clingy and weird. Aunt Mary once told me that Alexa has a crush on me. But she seems to be psycho to me. She finds different ways to touch me. It isn't a pleasant memory at all.
Last time, I was there, the girl went nuts. She locked us in a room and started undressing herself, clearly a desperate chick. Suffice to say, I left away as fast as I could; leaving everybody else there. I sweared to god, never to be there again. Surely afterwards, I told mom, dad and Greg about the reason for my early departure, avoiding the stripping naked part to my parents!!!!
Everybody started laughing remembering the incident. Greg was on the floor, clutching his stomach.
"It's not funny at all! Isn't June enough in my life that god sent Alexa also." I murmured, massaging my temple.
"Oh my poor son! Everybody stop laughing." Mom said, side hugging me. Although, she herself was laughing. Dad stopped laughing but Greg didn't, so I threw another pillow at him.
"Okay! Sorry. I'll shut up but congrats with your pathetic life, dear bro." He mocked a fake salute, laughing again.
"My life isn't pathetic but if you won't shut up, yours will be." I said smirking.
"Enough! Children..." Dad said raising his hand. "Tomorrow is your mother and my sixth anniversary. So, I am having a small dinner with some of our friends in the house. Please be at best behaviour and gentleman to the ladies. Now, we are heading for sleep." He said standing up and leaving with mom to their room.
"Good night both of you..." Mom said kissing both our foreheads. Yes, I know. What everyone of you are thinking!!! 'Sixth Anniversary'... right. She isn't my real mother, so what! Doesn't make us love her some less.
Our real mother died seven years ago, due to cancer. We were devastated. She was everything to me, to Greg and Dad. After she died, Dad was a wreck. He started drinking more than he usually did. He met Catherine, our present mother at a club. He was wasted and started telling all about himself, about us, about mom and her death to her.
