I take a sharp turn on the corner of the road, looking down at the direction. Just five more minutes and I will be there.
'You have reached your destination' the automated voice spoke bringing me out of my trance. Turning off the ignition, I climb out of my car. 21/98, Winston Street, Burryville . I read the address to confirm that I am at the right place. I press the doorbell waiting patiently.
"Hello, how may I help you?" A red haired woman in mid- thirties ask me, coming out of the door.
"Yeah sure!! Is this Mr. Daniel Hemsworth residence?" I ask.
"You have come to the right place but I am afraid that he isn't here at the moment and won't be returning soon. Any other way that I can help?" She says smiling at me.
"Well, I am here to meet his daughter Annabelle Hemsworth."
"Sorry but Can I please ask you for your name and identification sir. I have some specific instruction to not let some people in, if you don't mind." Ooh!!! And I have a feeling that, I come in those some people.
"Adam Parker." And with that the 'nice' lady shut the door on my face. Way to go!!!
"Sorry sir! But your entry in this house is prohibited. And I have strict orders from Mr. Hemsworth that you are not to be allowed anywhere near Miss. Annabelle. You have to leave." She said from the other side of the door.
"Please, I have something very important to tell her." I bang on the door.
"Sorry sir." I hear heels clicking and her walking away from the door. So, what I should do now? I look around and see that I am in a far off neighbourhood. There aren't many houses here. Two more beside Anna's which are far from here. I look up to the window. Only first floor and three windows. One window here and the two on the other side.
I jump and jump to see that the window on this side is of the bathroom. I could make out the shower. I jog to the other side. So one of these windows should belong to Anna's room. But which one? I do eenie meenie minee mo and it lands on the left window. Luck just be with me.
I pray to god before climbing on the pipe. Since I have never done this and I don't wish to break my bones. I carefully climb on the pipe, sliding down two times in the process. Thank goodness, this area has almost nil population. After a goddamn fourth attempt, I finally reach up. I slide open the window.
"Who's there?" Comes out Anna's voice.
"Please don't shout Anna or else I will be thrown out and all my hardwork of climbing this goddamn pipe to talk to you would go in vain." I say, stepping into her room through the window.
She is sitting in her bed clutching her pillow, in her pyjama shorts and black tank top. A shock expression on her face on seeing me.
"What on the earth are you doing here? How did you get in?"
"I told you already that I climbed that pipe. But that's not important!" I walk towards her. "Why did you leave Anna?"
"I think I already answered that in the letter, I left you. I don't want bad happening again." She say, getting up from the bed and standing infront of me.
"The bad guys killed your parents. The road was slippery and Nathan's car skidded. None of it was your fault." I place my hand in her shoulder.
"He was coming to meet me that day. Because I was crying over the phone listening to the thunders and watching the rain pouring down. If I wouldn't have called him, he would still be here with me." She looked at me.
"Nobody blames you except you. You cut yourself from everybody. Is staying away from Sam and Jess doing you any good? Is staying away from your best friend Patricia doing any good to you? Tell me."
"How do you know Patricia?" Her eyes widening.
"I know a lot more. I met her and Jason and Mr. Wilson. Nice man but at first sight, he mistook me as his son."
"When did you-"
"I was looking for you Anna. Patricia and Jason helped me in reaching here. I promised her to bring the old Anna back to her."
"You shouldn't promise things that you can't keep Adam." She said lifting her eyes to look at me.
A/N: Hello everyone. Thanks for reading my work. I can't believe that it has reached 1.2k reads. It may be less for people but for me, its worth my effort. But that doesn't mean that I don't want more.
I can feel the story nearing its end but I still can't say. So no promises. Leave your thoughts behind and always remember that I love you all....
Happy reading <3
