Juan P.O.V.

Avery and I were at Nana's house. My nana left the house for work as soon as the physical therapist left. As usual, Grandpa was at work. They always came back at around the same time, which was around 4 am. I just got off the wheelchair and put on crutches - I was still crippled though.

"Do yo' people got any sort of alcohol 'round here?" Avery asked from the kitchen.

"They do, I just don't know where." I answered depressingly.

"I found it," He said. "You want some?"

"Nah." I said, clearing my throat.

A moment later he came out with a half-full glass of alcohol.

"Man," he said while sitting down, "you ain't over that shit yet, huh?"

"It ain't as easy as you would think."

"I understand that." He sighed.

I paused. "I could've done something to help." I finally said.

"Yeah, but it would've probably happened anyways," Avery said sipping his drink. "There's supposed to be a party tonight. Why don't we go there tonight, just to get your mind off your situation for a minute."

"Avery." I said.

"What?" He asked.

"I won't forget cause I'm still on crutches, plus I plan on taking my wheelchair instead cause I ain't try'na be looking for a place to sit for hours. I certainly won't forget that." I said.

"Man you always try'na fuck a nigga vibe up."

I laughed. "I'll get dressed."

After getting dressed, I slid down the stairs. When I got on the bottom step, I grabbed my chair from the corner of the hallway and unfolded it.

"Nigga what you doing?" Avery laughed from the couch.

I laughed. "I slide down the stairs when my nana leave. She don't let me go up by myself but Grandpa do." I said while climbing into my chair.

"She told me not to let you go upstairs on your own but I forgot." He said while standing up.

We talked as we made our way to his car. We rapped along to the songs on his phone. We got the house and it was packed. The house was in the suburbs so I wasn't worried about it getting shot up.

"You know that girl Diana I told you about?" He asked once we were parked.

I thought for a moment. "Yeah."

"She in town and she coming to this party. Then you know that thick ass white girl, Kate?

"Hell yeah I know her." I chuckled.

"Well she coming tonight too. Then you know the Latina girl Maria I'm talking too, well she gon' be there too. So guess what I'mma do the whole night," He asked, opening the door. "You need help coming out?"

I shook my head before smirking and he did too. "Freak hoes, freak hoes." We both rapped while doing milly rock.

We both bursted out laughing as we came out of the car. I wiped a tear away.

"You got yo' hoes coming?" He asked looking down at me.

I was 6'3 and Avery was 6'6. He would already look down at me standing up. Then I was put in that wheelchair, and it got him looking down real good.

"Do I look like I'm in good condition to fuck?" I asked rolling into the house.

The music was real loud so we started yelling at each other.

"Don't get smart with me, that's why you crippled." He yelled making me laugh.

"There go Kate and Maria." I yelled nodding towards them.

"You sure you don't want one of them to give you head or ride you or some shit like that, cause I'm willing to give you one for the night." He said.

I laughed. "I'm sure. Go on and get your hoe, hoe, hoes."

He laughed. "Text me when you ready to leave." He said jogging towards the two girls.

I rolled around the house until I saw a good place to be at. I stopped my chair beside a couch. I really didn't feel like talking to nobody cause I knew it would give me anxiety.

Why did I even agree to come to this place, I thought.

I was looking around until this dude I knew, Andre walked over to me. Andre was someone I met at a party a while back. He was chill and all when I met him but he was high key annoying and rude.

"Damn nigga, you really in this chair?" He asked unbelievably.

"I was, I'm actually on crutches now." I corrected.

"Whatever man. How you holding up?" He asked.

"Good." I lied, not trying to go deep into my business.

"If you need anything bruh, you got my number." He said patting my back and turning around to leave.

He don't mean that, I thought before chuckling.
