Deetranada P.O.V.

After getting shot at by the Philly dudes, I dropped my car off with this dude named Rodney. He said he'd replace the window and call me tomorrow to pick it up.

The thing about us and the Philly dudes is that we been try'na work shit out with them. I was told the first time time they pull some shit like that, forget try'na make peace and attack back - that moment felt like the proper time for that. I didn't tell anybody about it though. If I did, Sage would make me leave it alone to my dad's other people. But them dudes ruined my car, so I was gon' ruin them. I was off my crutches the week after, so that was when I would actually attack.

I carpooled to school with Ann. I told her my car was in the shop cause the brakes was messed up, which was obviously a lie. The same thing that happened every now and then, happened today. Juan and I had an extra long conversation at the bleachers.

Soon, lunch came, and that was when real shit went down.

"Ann, can I talk to you about some?" I asked.

Her head was laid down on the table. Once I said her name, she sprung her head up.

"What?" She asked while stretching.

I nodded my head towards the cafeteria exit. We both got up and walked out. We walked into the bathroom. I checked all the stalls to make sure there wasn't anybody in there but us. I stood in front of the bathroom mirror and brushed my curly sew in down. Ann stood beside me with her arms crossed.

"What's been up with you, you ain't been yourself lately." I asked.

"What you talking about?" She asked, playing dumb.

"Keep playing dumb and I'mma snatch that wig off ya' head." I joked.

She laughed. "I really don't know what you talking bout." She looked down at her fingers.

I gave her a look. "I'm being dead ass, Ann."

She looked up and looked at me through the mirror, then she turned to look at me.

She sighed. "Andre broke up with me the other day." She said.

I sighed. "Don't be pressed about that dude, Ann. It's his loss." I said looking at her.

"You don't even understand. We been together so long, and he does me like this after everything." She said with glossy eyes.

She leaned against the wall with her arms crossed.

"Ann, Andre was being unfaithful." I finally said.

"What?"

I took a deep breath. "He was a no good dirty ass boy, Ann. We all knew it, we just didn't tell you cause it wasn't in our place to."

She put her back against the wall and sunk down to the floor. She wiped a tear before it could fall.

"Well fuck him then." She said.

I looked down at her with a laugh, which made her laugh. I squatted down the best I could with my boot on. I felt like it was on there just because, it wasn't like I was still in pain.
