I was with Jamon and this dude we went to high school with. We called him Duke. We were outside of a corner store smoking cigarettes.

"Aye, Duke, you heard about the nigga who got PTSD from getting shot? I'm try'na figure out who did that poor of a job. I don't need to get mixed up in a group like that." I said taking a long drag.

Duke was apart of a gang who we were cool with, therefore it wasn't foul to chill with him and ask these kinds of questions.

"Nigga, wasn't y'all the ones that murked that nigga brother cause he owed y'all money. That's all you nigga." Duke laughed.

"Fuck outta here mutha'fucka." I said with a scowl.

"Y'all the ones the murked Jerome who sold on the block for y'all, right?" Duke asked.

I looked at Jamon, who was looking straight ahead.

"Yeah." I said nervously.

"Well that's his brother." Duke said.

"Oh, his brother name, Juan right?" I asked.

"Yeah, that's his name. Y'all betta' do some about him." Duke said.

"We will," I said. "We gon' leave you. Come on, J." I said dumping my cigarette on the floor and stepping on it.

We both dapped Duke up. We then walked over to Jamon's car.

"What the hell was he talking about? Which one of us left that nigga alive?" I asked, angrily.

"You sure he knew what he was talking about. The dude was damn near as high as Chico from 3rd block was on a daily back in high school." Jamon said.

I kissed my teeth. I texted Dee, J.I., Key, and Mani telling them to be at The Joint in an hour, which was when Jamon and I would be done eating at a restaurant.

Sage called us all to The Joint. Once we got there, he spoke.

"Y'all remember that hit we did on Jerome, right?" Sage asked looking towards me.

He's talking about that Juan shit. I already know I'm finna get in some deep shit.

We all nodded. "What was the positions - I was in the car so I wouldn't know." Sage said again.

"Key and Jamon was downstairs and me, Mani, and Dee was upstairs." J.I. said, sitting up straight.

"Was there any other person there?" He asked again.

"I ain't see no one else." Mani and J.I. said.

"Was there supposed to be?" Key asked.

"I ain't seen no one." I lied.

"Me either." Jamon shrugged.

"So y'all ain't hear that extra gunshot?"
