I slightly winced in pain as the ointment touched the scar. Even though it didn't hurt when I touched it before, it felt like it only happened in a dream. Now, it hurt as if the scar wasn't dry yet.
Lisa bit her lower lip, closing one eye as if she were feeling the pain, too. "Sorry, it may really hurt for a bit." she giggled lightly.
I looked at her with one eye open, my eye that was near the scar was closed, bearing the pain. "Ya, are you sure you're doing it right? It didn't hurt yesterday."
She blew raspberries through her mouth as she stood up to get something from the cabinet. "Don't underestimate me, Jungkook." closing the cabinet, she went and opened the band aid with her mouth before placing it right on the scar. She smiled, giving herself a pat on the back.
Slowly, my fingers touched the band aid; of course it wouldn't hurt anymore. I stood up, going to the bed she was sitting on, pulling out my wallet, even though nothing was stored in there. Just a bunch of my old pictures and a measly penny. "Uhm.. I'll come back here. Don't worry, I'll pay you-"
She held up her hand, shaking her head. "No way, mister. This clinic was built to treat patients for free." There was that annoying smile of hers again. But I have to admit-she looked so innocent. I would've fallen for her if our first meeting didn't go the way it went.
I simply smiled at the thought, making her furrow her eyebrows.
"Wow. I never thought you'd actually smile."
Clearing my throat, I looked at her the same way I had always been. Back to treating her coldly. "That wasn't a smile."
I grabbed my coat, sneaking a glance on my back to see if she was looking. As I put my coat on, I cleared my throat, whispering under my breath. "Thank you."
"Eh? Did you say something?"
"Nothing." was all I told her before shutting the door closed. I was back on my way home again. But the thought of encountering Mom wasn't on my mind right now-never had been. So I decided to walk back to Art school; clear my mind off things.
My mouth went agape when I saw IU-sunbaenim talking to a guy older than me. I'd assume it was her boyfriend. Because the way they stare at each other was intense, if not intimate. However, the guy looked mad about something, which IU-sunbaenim didn't seem to respond well to; ignoring his spat out questions and looked away to avoid them, instead.
Our eyes met. And I knew it was definitely a wrong move. I saw her lips painted with red, almost about to speak my name but her boyfriend cut her off. They were back to arguing again. This time, her boyfriend left her side. She made her way toward me with her head hung low.
As the wind blew, lifting half her hair in the air, making her look like she's shooting a scene from a movie I'd want to watch.
But that beautiful scene had ended the moment she appeared before me, inches away from my body, tears flowing from the corner of both her eyes. "Jeon, do you..want to go with me?"
-
It was bad enough for me feeling guilty of her boyfriend thinking she was cheating on him with me-especially when I want to comfort IU-sunbaenim, but not like this.
She brought me to the city's bar for a drink, even though I'm still underage. She kept on insisting I drink a few, but I keep on politely declining. But I know, my politeness is about to slip. I never wanted to see IU-sunbaenim in this state; lost, broken and drowning herself with alcohol.
It just doesn't seem right. She's been such a great role model in my eyes, seeing her in such a weak state, I would've never thought she even had a weakness.
"Ya, Jeon.." she snickered while lifting her shot glass between her index and middle finger. She hiccuped from drinking too much. "..it's quite stupid, isn't it? My boyfriend..I knew he had been cheating on me for about..3 months now..and suddenly, he found us hanging out-scolding and lecturing me as if he really loves me."
The air she was breathing out involved a white-colored smoke. She smiled at the sight and kept raising her hand up to order more, but this time, I held her hand-tightly, interlacing it with hers. I looked at her face, which looked as if she were a lost girl in this world.
If only she'd look at me the same way she looks at her boyfriend. If only we had met in an earlier stage. If only I were the man she loved, instead of being broken by a man who clearly doesn't deserve her.
Soon, IU-sunbaenim was going to pass out. "Jeon-ssi.." she managed to mutter out, making me lean in to hear the rest of her words. "please don't leave me."
Her words meant so much to me. Never have I ever thought that this day would come-Jieun was reaching out to me.
I nodded, understanding what she wanted. "I'll be right here."
Hunching over beside a tree, she kept vomitting it all-from the food (I guess) she ate earlier before arriving, to the beer she took in just now-'til she finally relaxed, sitting by the pavement.
"IU-sunbaenim-"
She lifted a finger, geturing me to not call her that anymore.
"J-Jieun, I'll bring you home, so please don't fall asleep here."
She brought both of her arms in the air. I grabbed both of them, placing them on both sides of my shoulders. I blushed at the thought of her lips nearing mine. Her eyes slowly opened to witness the view.
"I-It's not what you think-" my eyes widened when Jieun leaned in and planted a kiss with her soft lips on mine.
