Claire's P.O.V
He knows me?

How? I need answers. This day did not turn out the way I had started to imagine after I figured out it was my birthday.

I looked confused and scared shitless at my parents and then back at foreign man. His aqua blue eyes stared deep into my  chestnut ones. His obsidian black hair looked silkier than any night gown I have ever worn.

"Who are you?" I questioned taking a step back.

"I am someone whose help you seek," he spoke slowly. Help? I don't need any help. My life is perfect the way it is, so why would I need help?

"Claire, sweetheart," mom started to speak. I turned to her, a sad smile on her face. I didn't know how to feel. Sad? Angry? Miserable?

"You need to go, he'll be the one to assist you," she said smiling at me. I swung my body around to look at my father but he only looked away.

Hurt. That how I felt right now. Hurt and disappointed. Nothing made sense.

"I promise Claire, I'll explain everything on the way to your new home," the blue eyed man spoke again, pleading with me.

"Explain!?" I shouted angrily. I was pissed off now. I hated this new unwilling turn in my life. Things were never supposed to be like this.

"Can you explain why my parents are suddenly sending me away unwillingly, can you explain why they told me that they're not my parents?" I began to shout at him. This is a mess, nothing is supposed to be this way.

"Can you explain why I'm feeling this way, can you explain why they never wanted me to be apart of the outside world?" It hurts. My feelings hurt, my heart hurts and it's all because I feel....betrayed?

I was just supposed to have a happy birthday but everything fell upside down. I felt worse than how I would feel if my ice cream dropped, and that's saying something because ice cream is practically my boyfriend.

The man replied to me calmly, "once I tell the entire story from start to finish you'd understand,"

"Story? Is that what my life is to you, a damn book?" I was downright pissed, how he considers my life something so small. Yeah, everyone has a story, but the way he said it made me look at him with scorn.

I didn't even wait for any of them to respond, I just marched inside slamming the door behind me and matched right up to my room.

~Nellia ( Claire's 'mom')

Of course she would react like this. I just dropped the bomb on her like that. It hurt me to have to send her away, but it's the right thing to do.

The moment my husband and I had the opportunity to have a baby, even for a limited time, we jumped right at it. After trying for a baby and finding out that I couldn't reproduce, it hurt both my husband and I. We had planned to adopt, but then when we went to that lake and saw those two people there, about to leave their baby girl floating in water and then offered us the chance to be parents...we couldn't have been more rejoiced.

They had told us that they couldn't keep their baby girl where they were from because she would have been in danger and the best thing to do was to keep her among humans where she couldn't access her magic or supernatural form.

For what reason they couldn't keep their baby, they couldn't tell us, but I was very happy with the experience I had of being a mother, even if she hates me now, I still love her like she is my own.
