I got into Cameron's car and buckled up before he drove out of the driveway. He picked up his phone and dialed my mum's number "Mrs. Hamilton this is Cameron." He said once it was hooked up through Bluetooth
'Cameron! How are you?' Her voice rang over the phone
"Good. I'm taking Sky to the hospital. She needs you to watch the girls." He said taking a sharp curve
'What's wrong?' Sympathy filled her voice
"She didn't tell you? You didn't tell her?!" He turned his head to look at me for a second while I shot him a look. "She's pregnant." He said then we heard squealing "Okay bye then." Cameron hung up while I deeply exhaled "Stay with me! Don't go into the light!" He laughed
"I'm not dying! I'm just going to have another baby!" I laughed.
Cameron pulled up to a curve
"Wait here." He got out of the car. Three seconds later I looked out the window and saw Cameron running up to my door with a wheelchair. I flew the door open and he eased me onto the wheelchair
"What's this for?" I laughed as he rolled me through the door
"Your my best friend's wife. He isn't here so I have to take care of you." He said in a serious tone "Doctor she's about to give birth can we get her to a room asap?" Cameron asked the woman at the counter. I was immediately put into a room of my own.
I couldn't sleep at all. I just kept breathing heavily. A nurse walked in and disrupted my thoughts
"The man who brought you here wanted to come in." She said standing in the doorway
"Let him in." I panted and she held the door wider. He walked in and stood beside me and the nurse walked out "Did you tell Shawn yet?" He asked "No Cameron. You brought me here and I left my phone at home." I rolled my eyes
"Well here. I have him on speed dial." He handed me his phone "You need to call him." He said making his way to the door
"Cameron. Stay? Please?" I pleaded and he smiled
"What are you afraid of Shawn?" He asked and I didn't answer. I have no idea if I'm afraid of Shawn or his reaction more. Yes I'm afraid.
"You are afraid of him!" He exclaimed "Shut up." I said while dialing Shawn's number. The phone rang and rang. Then it stopped and I hoped that it was going voicemail. I held my breath "Hello?" I asked then the piercing sound came out of the phone
"Sky! I'm sorry that I haven't had time to call you." He said as I let out my breath
"Yeah so how's your tour been?" I asked as Cameron nudged me
"That's not why I gave you my phone." He said
"My tours been great. Cameron's with you? I thought you just stole his phone." Shawn laughed
"Tell him or I will." Cameron said as I gulped
"Tell me what?" Shawn asked
"Shawn do you remember how I said two months. Before you left?" I asked as there was a long pause on his end of the line then a yawn
"Yeah I remember. Why?" He said
"It's been two months." I said
"Cool." He yawned
"Shawn I'm in the hospital." I said quickly
"What? Why?" He asked as I pulled the phone from my ear and placed my hand on the phone
"Should I tell him about my dad too?" I whispered
"Yes. Tell him everything." Cameron said as I put the phone back up to my ear
"I'm giving birth and my father hurt me so that's why I'm in the hospital." I let a tear fall down
"The same one you've been in before?" I could hear him messing with some stuff on his end of the line "Yeah. I gotta go." I hung up as another tear fell down.
"So is he coming?" Cameron asked
"I don't know he's probably too busy with the tour." I said.
A nurse walked in
"Are you the father?" the nurse asked Cameron
"No, I'm the father's best friend." Cameron said
"Then please get out." She said. She stayed and helped me deliver my baby. The nurse took my baby to clean it up and I fell asleep. When I woke up a nurse walked in the door
"Does the baby's father have hazel eyes, brown hair, is really tall, have big muscles, and is grouped by other men?" The nurse asked
"Yeah probably." I said sleepily
"Well do you want to take visitors?" the nurse opened the door as I nodded.
Mum came through the door with the girls
"When do I get to see my grand baby?" She asked
"If you go and get the girls something from the vending machine and come back I'm sure the baby will be back." I said as they headed down the hall. Cameron burst through the door with the biggest smile on his face. Shawn walked through the door.
"Am I too late?" He asked standing by my side
"Yeah." I chuckled
"Are these scars from?" He barely brushed his left thumb over a scar on my face
"My dad. Yeah." I blinked away a few tears.
"Do you know the gender yet?" He asked while holding my hand
"You said that you wanted to be surprised." I smiled. A knock came at the door
"Come in!" I said loudly so whoever it was could hear me. A doctor came in holding our baby
"You're baby girl is-." The doctor began
"It's a girl! I knew it!!" Shawn cried "Now not every parent receives this message. But your baby girl isn't healthy. She has cancer." the doctor handed us our baby
"I'll leave you alone with your daughter." the doctor handed me my daughter and left.
Mum, the girls, and Cameron walked back in.
"What's her name?" Melody asked while peering into her new sister's brown eyes.
"Marci Lauren Mendes." I said as a single tear trickled down my cheek "Daddy why are you and mummy crying?" Naomi asked as I looked at Shawn who was wiping his tears, but his eyes still had a pink-tint to them. "Because. Marci has cancer." once the words left Shawn's lips the room fell dead and I caressed Marci's head.
