"Come on gorgeous, you didn't think I'd stay dead did you?"
SEQUEL TO GOTHAM GAZETTE, DO NOT READ UNLESS YOU HAVE READ THAT
Turns out killing your dad lands you in the same place your psychotic boyfriend escaped from before kidnapping you. A...
Waking up with Kat felt so much better than it ever had when we had spent our days together before. She was so willing, her face nuzzled into my chest so affectionately and her hand gripping my shirt, every time she had a bad dream she would grip it tighter and I couldn't help but run my fingers though her hair. She looked so beautifully wonderful, is that grammatically correct? Wait this is in my head it doesn't matter. Wait does punctuation matter in my thoughts? Huh, if I was born deaf what language would I think in?
I shook my head, amused with the thought. Kat was different, she's extraordinary but very different. She ran straight to my arms yesterday and as much as I had predicted it because I knew she couldn't resist me I didn't imagine it to be such a drastic change. She was devoted to me, that much she had already shown and now I could finally see just how crazy she was. It was probably Arkham that did it to her, I mean I was crazy before going but after DAMN was I a nutcase. Still am.
"Kitty." I stroked her hair in an attempted to wake her up. Her eyes slowly fluttered open and I was greeted with gorgeous blue eyes that had only ever held tears but now they were so welcoming.
"Yeah?" I traced the outline of her lips delicately, another thing I had never been able to do but now she was leaning into my touch as if her life depended on it. I wasn't complaining.
"What are we gonna do now?" I questioned her, curious as to how on earth we were going to be able to stay out of the limelight of Gotham for more than a couple of days. I couldn't afford to go back to Arkham, not with Kat around.
"I have a surprise." She whispered with a smirk and my own lips turned upwards at the thought.
"Do you now? I've always been a sucker for surprises." I pull her closer to me.
"Well a little birdie told me that a certain circus in Metropolis. I don't know about you but I could totally go for a quick road trip to kill some clowns huh?" She offered, her smirk widening and her hands wrapping themselves around my waist. "Besides, there's nothing in this dreary city for me anyways. What do ya say?" I laughed at just how spot on she was.
"You know me all too well Kat." I kissed her passionately and she returned it, running her hands through my hair, pulling away before it got out of hand. "But didn't I already kill em all?" I questioned, trying to remember if I did or not.
"You only killed like three people, pretty weak." She insulted me playfully and I chuckled.
"Aren't you lucky that you aren't anybody else." She laughed at me, her melodic laugh now with the same psychotic undertone I too, had inherited from my stay in Arkham. It was like a parting gift from the facility to you.
"Quite lucky." She hummed in response, kissing me again before getting out of the bed much to my dismay.
"Kitty come back to bed." I whined and she rolled her eyes at me, starting to get ready for the day.
"If we don't start getting ready we'll miss Haly's circus while they are in Metropolis and who know's where they will be next." She explained and now it was me rolling my eyes. She got changed right in front of me, leaving her underwear on once again to my disappointment and dressed in all black. She donned a leather jackets, combat boots and black jeans, something I had never imagined her wearing before.
"I'm really digging this new badass Kat." She looked hot, not gonna lie. I mean she looked like Tabitha without the attitude and trust issues.
"You can thank Selina for that. Speak of Selina." With that she left me in the room, with nothing to do so I tried to go back to bed. I could hear her and Selina talking, their voices hushed as if they didn't want me to hear but I cared more about sleep than their petty conversation anyway. I loved this new Kat but it kind of had me missing the old Kat, scaredy Kat as I used to think of her as. It wasn't long before Kat came back with a set of clothes my size.
"Where on earth did you get these clothes? Was there another guy here?" I questioned her, the jealousy evident in my voice but masking that wasn't my main priority at this point.
"No Jerome, it was the previous owner's chill out! Why would I bring you back from the dead if I already had another guy?" She asked me incredulously and I didn't have anything to counteract it. I mean it didn't really make sense but still.
"I mean it'd be the perfect prank." I muttered, still suspicious.
"Yes Jerome, I went out of my way to find your body and resurrected you for the soul purpose of playing a joke on you, April Fools! April was two months ago, I spent it in Arkham Asylum missing you!" She replied throwing her arms in the air sarcastically. "So yes, jokes on you Jerome." I stepped back slightly, my arms up in mock defeat.
"Sorry babe." Her mood immediately shifted and she was smiling brightly again her eyes held the same fire I'd suspected from her since the beginning. "What did Selina say?" I asked, still not sure how I felt about the girl who'd been living with my Kat.
"Just goodbye, I suspect we won't be back in Gotham for a while. Surely news has spread about you and I'm already font page news from my Arkham release, it'll be a while before backs down from trying to find us." I nodded, ready to get changed before realizing that I smelled, quite literally, of death.
"I might need to take a shower, being dead really makes you reek you know?" I raised my arm for emphasis.
"Not from personal experience but I can imagine." She laughed at her own joke and I couldn't help but join her.
"I think your time without me gave you a personality." I poked fun at her.
"You loved me before I had a personality, what does that say about you?" She fired back, throwing me a towel and directing me to the bathroom.
"That I have incredibly good taste." I winked at her and she playfully shoved me into the bathroom.
"Quit flirting." She laughed, leaving me to shower.
