Kat's POV:
I made myself a cup of tea as I waited for Jerome to get out of the shower, knowing that I'd have to pack a bag for the two of us before we left.
"You don't have to leave with him you know?" Selina comes to sit beside me at the small dining table. "I mean we have a really good thing going with the two of us."
"Selina you know I have to, we need to get out of Gotham for a while. We'll be back soon I hope." She gave me a sad smile and I retuned it.
"You know if you don't say goodbye to the boys they will hunt you down, that's if they even let you leave Gotham." I laughed before I heard someone clear their throat behind me.
"The boys?" Jerome questioned and Selina looked concerned.
"Oh yeah, you haven't met them yet have you? Edward and Oswald are my buddies from Arkham! We should go give them a visit on the way to Metropolis, they've been dying to meet you!" I exclaimed in excitement, I'd heard about Edward's recent escape from Arkham and knew he'd be living with Oswald.
"That sounds... Great." He gave me a tight lipped smile and I began to pack a small bag for myself before throwing Jerome a bag of his own.
"You can look through the previous owners stuff I'm sure he has something you could pack." I shooed him off as I continued packing my own things, grabbing my iphone that I'd gotten myself a couple of weeks ago and called Oswald.
"Well if it isn't my favourite Feline friend!" His voice rang joyfully.
"I'm going to tell Selina you said that." I replied with a smirk that he couldn't see.
"When have you ever been a snitch hm?"
"Fair point." I reply. "You and Eddie are free today aren't you?" I fix Jerome's beanie on his head so that it at least disguises him a little bit.
"For you? I'm sure we can fit you in." I smiled and laughed.
"I'm honored truly, I mean the King of Gotham can spare a moment for little old me? Ooh I'm bringing someone along I'm sure you'd love to meet." Jerome was glaring at the phone and I mouthed for him to chill out.
"When can we expect you? Would you like me to send you a car?" He offered, such a gentleman.
"That would be lovely Ozzie, I should be ready in 10 minutes." With that I hung up the phone to face a salty Jerome. "Would you relax? They are my friends!" He rolled his eyes and we continued getting ready, it wasn't long before a lavish car was parked in front of my apartment complex. I hugged Selina goodbye and grabbed my bag as Jerome did the same.
The car ride was silent, odd considering the two of us were probably the most talkative people I'd ever known. We pulled up to Ozzie's bar and I could tell that Jerome was still in a bad mood.
"Eddie! Oswald!" I called into the almost empty bar and saw Oswald's head pop up from behind a booth.
"Katerina! What do I owe the pleasure?" He hobbled over and I gave him a hug.
"Well I'd like you to meet a pal of mine." I linked arms with Jerome who stood glaring at Oswald.
"Hold on let me get Edward I'm sure he isn't far away." Oswald begins to leave the room as I call out.
"Is he ever far away from you Ozzie?" He glares at me playfully before I already hear Edwards footsteps.
"Do we have company Oswald-"
"Told ya." I winked. Jerome still looked uncomfortable and miserable beside me. "Now that you're both here I'd like you to officially meet Jerome Valeska." Jerome didn't move and neither did they.
"I believe we've met before." Edward's jaw ticked and and I knew I wasn't talking to Eddie anymore.
"Oh I remember you! I shot you in the shoulder at the GCPD didn't I? To save your little girlfriend? What was her name again? Started with an A-" Jerome finally began to regain his usual persona and I could tell he was enjoying how angry Edward was becoming.
"Yes well Katerina, you seem to be awfully quiet. Don't tell me he's kidnapped you again? It's ok you can always hide out and my place just like old times." I felt Jerome's muscles tense and his jaw clench as he turned to face me.
"That's where you disappeared to? To hide out with this stringbean!" Jerome exploded and Edward laughed at him.
"Resulting to playground insults? Pathetic." Oswald took Edward away to try and defuse the situation but Jerome wasn't having any of it.
"I'm going to kill him." He growled but I placed my hands on either side of his face to calm him down.
"Hey J look at me." His eyes flickered to mine. "I'm going to get Oswald to lend us a car and we're out of here ok? You won't have to look at him again." He nodded slightly before glaring at Edward one last time.
"This isn't over." He grumbled.
"No it isn't is it? I've got so many better things planned." Edward stated threateningly but I'd already told Jerome to leave.
"Oswald you don't mind if we borrow a car do you? Jerome and I are going to be taking a little road trip."
"Of course not. I'm sorry for Edward, you know how he gets sometimes." I nodded and he handed me a set of keys he'd received from one of his servant people. "Will you be back soon?"
"Should be." I took the keys gratefully. "I'll miss you." He hugs me and I move to speak with Edward. "Dude why have you gotta agitate him like that? You know I like him." His smirk was malicious.
"I know and it seems that he loves you, I suppose every villain has a weakness." I rolled my eyes.
"Yes, just like yours is Oswald, leave us alone." I waved at Oswald again before leaving the bar, meeting Jerome at the door. "Let's go."
We both got in the car, him driving because I'd yet to get my license and have no clue how to drive. We start the journey in an awkward silence before he finally decides to break it. "I don't like them." He states simply and I turn to face him, slightly offended.
"Excuse me? They are my friends." I spat in reply.
"Yeah sure 'friends'. Friends aren't that close." He accused and I scoffed.
"Are you joking? Are you honestly telling me that you didn't notice the fact that they are totally gay for each other." His face brightened.
"Everything makes sense now." He gasped and I laughed at his realization. "I still don't like Edward." He muttered and I nodded, agreeing for the moment.
"Well you won't have to see him again for a while anyway, so lets just focus on killing some circus folk huh?" We sped down the highway and passed the border of Gotham city. Metropolis here we come.

Ok this Author's note is probably going to be longer than the actual chapter but some things need to be said.
First of all, if you guys haven't noticed I recently got a new cover! How pretty is it? It was made by the extremely talented izzthequinn and I'm honestly so obsessed with it.
Second of all, @faded-justice reviewed my book and made me feel like a freaking celebrity! She also has a book of her own that I'm in love with!
Third of all, for those who wanted to know my musical went so well! It was such a fun week and now I'm hoping to get a lot more writing done even through this was a filler chapter because of some pesky writer's block.
Finally, I saw Todrick Hall's Staight Outta Oz show last night and I ca confidently say that it was the best thing I've ever experienced, he's truly the most wonderful creator and such a genuinely nice guy. Also is anyone going to Supernova sydney? If you are hit me up.
