FAE

My head was groggy and felt like someone had hit me in the head with a brick, then when I tried to move my whole body it ached like someone had beaten me black and blue head to toe. The events of the day suddenly come flooding back all up until the point I was shot on the bridge in front of Sid and Chris by the hunters.

"Stay calm Fae, it's Corey."

Hearing Corey's voice my eyes dart open and when I try to sit up a hand stops me and gently pushes me back down. I blink a few times to adjust to the light and when my vision clears I realise I'm in a large bed and someone was next to me. Turning my head I lock eyes with my fiancé Corey who looked rather good for a dead man walking.

"I knew you weren't dead you bastard. They would have found a body otherwise."

Corey chuckles "turns out my idea of protecting you ended up with you being shot. You know what I am right? So you can be mad at me but I'm still going to ask you to drink some of my blood to finish up the healing process."

I watch in awe and slight horror as Corey opens his mouth revealing fangs, which he uses to bite down on his wrist making it bleed. He helps me into an upright position before bringing his wrist to my lips. I part my lips and feel the blood enter my mouth which I swallowed trying to get past this bizarre turn of events that had led me to drink Corey Taylor of Slipknot's blood in his bed.

His eyes had gone black but there were no veins like in books and on TV, they almost looked like contacts but I knew Corey didn't wear contacts. He pulls back his wrist and wipes some blood off my lips while I watch his wrist heal in front of me.

"Can I try something Corey? Stay in vampire mode."

Corey tilts his head at my baffling request. But I don't leave him waiting long because I bring my hands up to cup his face and bring my lips down on his feeling his fangs scrape against my tongue. I was kissing a real life vampire who also happened to be my fiancé. Corey gets into the kiss and smirks before pulling back.

"Does that mean I'm forgiven?"

I snort, "nice try Taylor but I'm going to milk this because I'm still annoyed but happy to be reunited."

He puts his hands up and I climb out of the bed feel less sore.

"Be careful Fae."

I laugh and twirl on the spot realising I'd been changed into an oversized jumper and baggy bottoms that drowned my small frame, "you were always a worrier Corey, I missed you worrying."

I nearly fall over but Corey vamp speeds to my side and catches me while scowling like a disapproving parent who was dealing with a reckless child.

"By the way your mystery phone person wanted me to reveal themselves. Turns out Sid was the mastermind because he was adamant you were still in danger even though we were out of the frame."

This was why Sid was my favourite member, second to Corey of course. Now I wanted to hug him and thank him for keeping an eye on me. Then another question arose about my injuries.

"Who patched me up?"

"Jim and Mick because they have the most medical experience."

I nod, I had three people to thank for why I was standing here alive right now, "can I see them?"

Corey laughs, "They'll be happy you're awake Fae. Though Shawn's in a mood with Sid so don't poke daddy bear."

Entwining my fingers through his I start to pull Corey towards the door when my eyes land on a familiar lock box making me stop short of the door.

"You found the box, what's inside?"

Corey sighs, "Little keepsakes taken from different decades to remind me of all I've done in my supernatural life. I'll show you them later if you like. I couldn't risk going back to my apartment to get it so thank you, babe."

In his eyes, I saw the box held very sentimental value and now I was even happier I'd never tried to open it, "you're very welcome Corey."

He leads me out of his room and into a long hallway that had several doors, less than the mansion but still more than an average sized house.

"The hunters did a number on your mansion; will you guys ever go back?"

Corey shakes his head, "probably not but eventually this place will feel like our new home."

It was a shame because it looked like a lot of love and attention went into making it what it was.

As we reach the bottom of the stairs the loud talking coming from our right stopped, stupid super vampire hearing would soon suck all the fun out of everything. Corey strokes my knuckles to try and calm me down before we enter the lounge.

"Damn it they're holding hands which means she forgave him, which means no money for Joey. Ow—"

Chris slaps Joey across the back of the head, "does this mean Sid and I win money because we said she'd forgive him?"

Of course, the guys had money on mine and Corey's relationship. I roll my eyes and pat Corey's hand who was glaring at his friends.

"Just because we're holding hands doesn't mean all is forgiven, I'm going to drag this out and Corey will never quite know when he's forgiven."

Shawn snorts, "Looks like me, Mick, Craig, and Jim will be getting the money then."

I throw my hands in the air and fall onto the sofa in between Sid and Chris. Everyone laughs and makes themselves comfortable starting their own conversations. I lean against Sid's shoulder and smile, he leans over and ruffles my hair.

"Corey told me Sid, thank you for being my guardian angel. Loved the mystery."

Sid sighs, "I'm just relieved you're happy and healthy Fae. I've got my best friend back."

Ah, Sid could be cute when he wanted to be, and the fact he called me his best friend made me feel wanted. I mean Ellie and Rosie were my best human friends but now I knew Ellie's bitter betrayal I might just be in the field for a new friend vampire or not.

Mick clears his throat, "guys I don't want to bring up the elephant in the room but now Fae's awake and knows about vampires and hunters, we need to talk about what the hunters could do next and how we're going to deal with them and get them the hell out of our city."

The room falls silent, that was one way to kill the semi-good mood. No one seemed to want to say anything but I knew it couldn't be ignored if all of us wanted to get our lives back on track.

"I know I want all the bastards gone, they manipulated at least one of my childhood friends, bugged my apartment and then quite literally shot me in the back."

"We need to show the hunters that we aren't scared of them and make it known to the hunters in the future who may come looking for trouble that we're not to be messed with, but also that we're not heartless killers like they assume."

I don't think I was alone in being stunned that Craig of all people gave a pretty damn convincing speech. Even Shawn looked impressed.

"Wow, guys no need to look at me like I've got a second head or something. I can talk when I want to."

Craig pouts and folds his arms across his chest, he might have the odd good thought or contribution but he would always be 'the silent one'. No explanation needed, he was a one of a kind guy no one ever could or would replace.
