I was sent to bed when my mother had finished destroying my drawings. The upset feeling inside of me was replaced by the anger of what my parents had done. I know that i had upset them but I couldn't control what i dreamt about. I tried to explain to my parents that the drawings were off the boy from my dreams, my mother cried and my father took my hand "Valerie you need to stop saying and doing things like this, you are our only child and we don't want you to get hurt, now go to bed and calm yourself down" I'd experienced nights like this before, they would find and destroy any images of him then we would argue and mum would cry.

I sat on my bedroom window and looked out. Curfew must be soon, because the pub was shutting up for the night and the drinking session at the Barn had come to an end as a group of teenagers made their way back home. I watch as one of them falls on the floor and throws up. I don't understand the attraction of getting drunk, it seems so pointless to me.

The moon was full tonight. The well known legend of Dagerhorn says that they hunt on a full moon. When I was first told the story's, the villagers only referred to them as 'they', I was never told what they actually were. So i did some research at the library, and I found out that these creatures were actually vampires. I read further into these legends and most of the information was boring, but then i came across some interesting information from a journal that someone had wrote during their time in Dagerhorn around 40 years ago. "They said that they would return tonight and take a loved one. Ever since we came across them in the woods we knew we were doomed. We begged them not to kill us, and we made a deal with them. We said we would let them take one of our own in exchange for keeping us alive. They came and took one of the women. She was dead before they drained her. But they wanted more, we knew that we should have obeyed the curfew and not gone out after dark because now we know that all of our lives are in danger. We should have never made a deal with them. I would have rather been killed when they found us. Note to any that find this: never make deals with vampires" After reading that i knew that i had to get more information, some people in the village would share some information but it wasn't enough to start assuming things.

At the times I wonder weather the boy in my dreams is one of them but the idea seems impossible. I don't know why I would be dreaming about a vampire. I've never met one before. The boy in my dreams never speaks to me, he's just there by my bed watching me sleep. It's weird because when I have the dreams I can see myself sleeping, I'm always stood by my bed but I can't wake myself up. The boy never notices me, he just watches my sleeping body and disappears before the sun comes up.

I close my windows tight. I may not believe in the whole vampire legend thing but you never know whats out there especially on a full moon.

I'm awoken from another one of my nightmares but its not the thunder that has woke me up this time. I wasn't sure what the noise was at first, but as i became more awake i heard screaming. I quickly got out of bed, put on a jumper and ran downstairs. The front door is wide open, my parents had also been awoken by the screaming. I make my way over to a group of villagers who are all stood in a huddle. I wonder what they are looking at. I squeeze past the people to try and get a better view. Being small has its benefits at times. All I see is a figure lying all the floor and a girl sat next to it. The girl must have been the one screaming. I try and get a closer look at the lifeless body on the floor but there are too many villagers around to clearly see anything.

"Its them" I hear one villager say "Bloody hell Gina those where silly stories we were told when we were little" This makes some of the villagers laugh. Some villagers decide to go home, I wait for them to go before I move closer to the body. They finally decide to leave, and this leaves me there with the crying girl and the lifeless body. I crouch down next to the girl, and look at the body. She has long brown hair and pale skin like me. It then becomes clear what the villagers were talking about.

There are two hollow marks in the girls neck.

Vampire. Maybe the legend is true, there was a full moon tonight. "I'm sorry" I say to the grieving girl, which i guessed was the girls sister. She looks up at me and for a second I thought she was going to attack me or something. "I cant believe she's gone. I was with her practically all night" I give the sister a sympathetic look. I could try and comfort her or I could try and get more information about what happened to her sister.

I choose the second option. "Did your sister talk to anyone else tonight?" I ask in hope of some information, she looks at me and rolls her eyes. "No she didn't. Who are you to ask anyway your only a stupid little girl" I look at her shocked, I know she's grieving and everything but there's no need to be mean. "I know, I'm sorry for asking" I reply and she looks at me before giving me a small smile. "She never had a love life, but she did say she was meeting someone here tonight. She met him in town a couple of weeks ago and he told her that she looked like the person he came here looking for. I don't know I never met him but he's probably behind all of this. He clearly didn't find the girl he was looking for and my sister suffered because of it. She wipes the tears from her eyes before continuing. "She said he was really good looking. Brown hair, pale skin. She never mentioned he was one of them" I give the girl a sympathetic look, my head feels like its spinning, the description of the vampire sounds like the person from my dream. I ignore the thoughts going through me head and look at the bite marks on her neck, I remember being told that when you get passionate with someone they give you a love bite but I don't think its anything to this extreme. "Do you think it was a vampire?" I ask. Another tear falls down her cheek "Those marks on her neck are from a vampire" she replies. We sit and stare at the marks in silence.

"You know you remind me of her. You look like her, same hair colour and stuff" she says. I smile at her and we both stand up. I don't know how long i've been sat here but it feels like forever. I apologies again, and ask her weather she needs walking home or something, but just as I get up her parents arrive and I leave.

I go home, thankfully my parents didn't come and check on me because they probably would have shouted and punished me for going out so late at night. Tonight has been one eventful night.

I think over everything the girl told me. Maybe it was a vampire that attacked her. The thought of that happening makes me feel ill. "He clearly didn't find the person he was looking for" the words from her sister reply in my mind. "You know you remind me of her" I start to feel sick as something inside of me makes me realize that maybe the vampire from my dreams was here in our village tonight. The description of him was very similar to the one she described. And maybe he killed that girl because she wasn't the person he wasn't looking for.

Because that person wasn't me.
