27. Please Wake Up

Ezra's POV
I heard a loud knock at the door and found Jackie trembling with tears streaming down her cheeks. I wrapped her in my arms and led her to the couch where I covered her in a blanket.

"I'll get some coffee" I said before racing into the kitchen to turn the kettle on. I made my way back and sat down beside her. "Jackie what's going on? Are you ok?" I asked worried. She turned to face me and burst into tears.

"I've really done it this time Z" she replied sobbing.

"What's wrong I'm sure it can't be that bad?" I asked now wishing I hadn't. I heard the kettle whistle so made my way to the kitchen and made two coffees. I sat them down on the table and notice Jackie just casually lay a gun on the table. "What the hells that?" I asked a little confused.

"I killed her" she said taking a sip of coffee.

"Killed who? Your baby was a boy and you did nothing wrong" I replied putting my arm around her.

"No Ezra I shot and killed her, the smitten bitch showing off how happy she was" she said with a little nasty smirk. I stood up. Who the hell was she talking about. I dialled the Rosewood police department and asked them to come around as something felt a little offish.

We finished our coffee when there was a knock on the door. I opened the door to find Toby and a smaller Spanish looking guy.

"What seems to be the problem?" Toby asked.
I opened the door and showed them Jackie sitting on the couch with the gun on the table. Both officers immediately raced in and took the gun and put Jackie in hand cuffs. While the other officer led Jackie away Toby stayed to fill in the gaps.

"What going on?" I asked still completely confused.

"A few hours ago Jackie Molena shot a young woman on the side walk. She's in critical condition currently fighting for her life...It doesn't look good" he said looking a little upset.

"Who the hell would Jackie want to kill?" I asked.

"I don't know if it's my place to say" he replied sternly.

"Toby please just tell me!" I yelled.

"Ezra she shot....she shot Aria" he replied stumbling over his words. My whole world just crumbled. My knees gave way as I crashed to the floor. Toby leant down and grabbed me as I bawled my eyes out onto his shoulder. "Come on. I will drive you" he said lifting me up from the floor.

I got to the hospital and saw Arias parents and her friends sitting in the waiting room their eyes all stained with tears. I made my way over as they all looked up.

"Jackie's been arrested. How's Aria?" I asked.
I looked at Ella who just burst into tears and the girls all bowed their heads crying.

"Not looking good" Byron whispered. I took a seat and placed my head in my hands and just cried. How could Jackie do this to Aria just walk up to her on the street and shoot her in cold blood. I looked up and noticed the familiar face of the guy from the Halloween dance last year carrying coffees for everyone.

"Here I grabbed a couple of extras in case more friends showed up. She was very much loved" he said smiling handing me a coffee.

"She's not dead yet" I replied.

"Sorry?" He asked looking confused.

"She's not dead yet...so she still is very much loved. She is so strong and she will pull through this" I replied angrily. We waited for hours before a doctor made his way over to us and pulled Arias parents to the side. I could hear him mumbling but couldn't make out what he was saying. Her parents made their way back over still sadness on their eyes.

"The operation went well the bullet just missed her heart. She has lost quite a bit of blood. But time will tell if she recovers. They are just waiting for her to wake up" Byron told everyone.

"What about the baby?" Riley asked worried. What baby I wondered, was Aria seeing this guy and carrying his child. Ella looked at me before opening her mouth to speak.

"She had a little girl, she's fine. They just have her in a humidicrib running some tests" Ella said still uncomfortably looking in my direction like I wasn't supposed to know about the baby.

Ella and Byron went in to see Aria. I walked the halls and found myself standing in the baby ward staring at all the tiny babies. The nurse wheeled a little baby in and parked the incubator near the window. I noticed the tag said Montgomery. The newborn looked like a mini Aria with short dark hair and amazing blue eyes. She was absolutely perfect.

"Are you the father?" I heard someone say as I spun around seeing a nurse staring. I didn't say a word as I looked back over towards the baby. "Come with me" the nurse said leading me into the room full of babies and placing me on a chair near the little girl. I placed my hand through the holes and touched her tiny fingers and hands. She quickly wrapped her hand around my finger and squeezed. A tear slid down my cheek. She was the most amazing little human I had ever met.

"Hello little one. Your mommy will be holding you soon, she loves you so much. She will be here soon, I promise" I said rubbing her precious little cheek. I heard someone clear their throat behind me and spun around to find Byron and Ella standing there.

"I'm sorry" I said taking my hands out of the humidicrib.

"Please stay" Ella said smiling. "She is yours, you deserve to know" she added. I felt like I was in shock. How could this perfect little thing be mine and Aria never told me about her.

"So little miss is getting a little hungry" the nurse said interrupting. "Who would like to give her, her first feed?" She continued smiling holding out a tiny bottle.

"I think the father should" Byron said smiling. I sat in a big recliner chair and had my beautiful tiny daughter placed in my arms. I placed the bottle to her lips as she sucked at looking into her big blue eyes the same as mine. I had tears sliding down my cheeks then I realised Ella was taking photos, a little embarrassed I wiped my cheeks and planted a kiss on her tiny perfect forehead. "Sleep well my little angel" I whispered looking down at my daughter who was now fast asleep in my arms. The nurse came and placed her back in the crib to sleep. I walked out of the nursery and burst into tears I felt a hand on my shoulder and looked around to find Spencer. I quickly wiped my tears.

"How you doing?" She asked.

"I just met my daughter for the first time and her mom may never get to meet her" I said wiping more tears from my eyes.

"We just left the room. I think Aria would like you to be there" she said giving me a weak smile.

I thanked her and made my way into Arias room. She had wires running everywhere and the machines kept beating I sat down and grabbed her hand.

"Our daughter is so perfect. You have to wake up and meet her. I love you Aria, I always have and always will" I said placing a kiss on her hand.
