Calypse leads me to the other silver train. A small group of servants are standing beside a tall boy with sandy blonde hair and clear silvery blue eyes. I knew him, and I knew his reputation. I tried hiding my fear for him, but I know I've failed at it when he sees me and smirks.

It was Fable Carver.

Fable was known for being able to tear branches of trees with his own bare hands. At school, the kids were afraid of messing with him, fearing for their own fragile white necks. Rumors sprend once he killed his father's hunting dog in under two minutes when he strangled it.

I know for certain I'm going to die.

"Well, since we didn't get to do this at the reaping," Calypse starts, "Miss Annabelle Adler and Mr. Fable Carver, your girl and boy tributes from District 7! Please shake hands!"

My hand is trembling as Fable takes it in his hot, meaty grip. Adrian comes out of the train we rode on originally, carrying the items he trained me with, and boards onto the other train. As we follow, Fable gives me a wink.

"Good luck, Annabelle," He says as he disappears around the bend.

We sit in the armchairs set in the dining room, Adrian, Fable, and me, to discuss training that night.

"So, Fable and Annabelle, we all know that you are being trained for the Hunger Games. It's my job to train you as a mentor. Would you like to be coached together or seperately?" Adrian asks us.

"Seperately," We say in unison.

"Okay, I'll train Annabelle today and tomorrow will be Fable." Adrian tells us.

Fable stands up and walks to his room, leaving me with Adrian.

"Why did you choose to train me first?" I ask.

"I have a feeling you need more training if your going to survive in the arena with him." He explains.

"Then your judging skills are the most accurate ones I've ever seen,"

He laughs, and I can't help but laugh too.

"So, where were we?" He says.

I've gotten better at my trapping; Adrian is a good tutor, and Fable is good enough to stay away and not spy on us. Adrian teaches me the difference between animal tracks, and how to pick good allies.

"Do you have any choices for alliances?" He asks me.

"Maybe the girl from 10, and the boy from 4." I tell him.

"Oh yes, those are good choices. I believe the girl is Gemma and the boy is Nico."

"Yes. . ." I say.

I know I need to learn how to hide my emotions better, because Adrian asks me, "What's wrong?"

I sighed, "Do you know what the Capitol does with a runaway tribute's family?"

Adrian looked down, "I can't tell you exactly what they've done with your family, Annabelle; all I know is that President Snow might let them go, or . . . I don't think I should say."

"It's fine," I say, "I think I'm done training for today."

I hand him the trap I made and walk to my room.

One day later, we were sitting in the dining room eating breakfast, when Adrian got up and looked out the train's window.
