Yes, I'm so glad I'm finished! Honestly, I think this is kinda a boring chapter, since I planned on adding more to it :P

Enjoy! ~Kaitlyn

All I could do was cry.

Nico was emotionless, and Summer cried silent tears. Soon, Nico grabbed my arm and took me away. From the trees, we watched the hovercraft appear and lift Gemma's bloody body away.

In anger, I pushed Nico away.

"I'm going to kill that bitch!" I yelled. "All she cares about is killing every thing smaller than her! I don't care about any other tribute she's tortured or killed since the beginning of these stupid Games, now she's gone too far."

"Annabelle, calm down. . ." Summer whispered.

"How can I?" I said with a weak voice. "Don't even think you're alright Summer, because I know you're mad too. I know you hate Mahogany and her little slaves as much as the rest of us do."

She looked at the dirt and stayed silent.

From across the water, the sun was setting in the west direction of the island, and it was going down fast.

Nico sighed. "We better camp out."

The next hour, Nico set up camp and Summer picked berries (that she assured were edible) for dinner. In the middle of eating, the tributes appeared in the sky.

First Jade. She must've died this morning from my arrow. Then her tribute partner, the blonde boy who I killed. Starsha, with her pretty blonde curls and sweet face. Finally, Gemma, with her face of wisdom and motherly light in her eyes.

The anthem ended and the sky went black.

"Nine left." Summer said.

When Summer finished eating, she immediately fell asleep, leaving Nico and I awake. I kept my bow near me as I kept an eye out for enemies. Nico stayed silent. Then it hit me. Nico had always been quiet, but since Gemma's death, he was melancholy.

"Nico, is something wrong?" I asked.

He didn't answer.

"Is it about Gemma?" I said calmly.

Again, nothing.

"She was that girl you said you liked at the interviews, wasn't she?"

"Yes, but I didn't mean it that way. I meant I loved her like a brother loves a sister. In a protective way, you know?" He said.

"Yes, I understand what you mean."

"Annabelle. . . about your family. . . you said at the interviews they disappeared. What did you mean by that?" He asked.

I suddenly found myself back on the couch with Caesar Flickerman, wondering if I should answer or not. At the interviews, I only said a little, but know I was telling everything.

"At first, it was my parents, with no one knowing what happened. Then the same happened to my siblings when I ran away. They came with me, along with my brother's friend. But when we got to District 11. . . well some crazy woman exposed us. They took me away from the rest of them. Now it's just like my parents; I don't know where they are or what's happened to them."

Nico looked down. "I'm sorry."

"No, it's fine, really."

After a few hours of silence, Nico took watch and I went to sleep.

At dawn, I woke up with a start when a cannon blasted.

Summer was keeping watch, and Nico was dead asleep.

"Second one this morning." Summer said. "Nico's been up all night. It's gonna be noon when he wakes up."

"Did you catch any tributes?" I asked.

"No. . . but Nico told me when I woke up that he tried to catch one tribute that walked by. He wasn't sure if he injured them or not, and he didn't know if they were enemies."

"We'll check later tonight in the sky. If whoever Nico saw was an enemy, they could still be around if he didn't kill them."

I stayed up with Summer, watching the sun rise up in the east. As soon as Nico woke up, we'd already packed our supplies and were heading out.

After a few miles, I stopped, leaning on a pine for support.

"Do we all agree that Mahogany needs to be stopped?" I said.

They hesitated, but then they both gave assuring nods.

"I've got a plan, but we need to work together and pay attention if it'll work."

"Got it?" I said.

Summer nodded once, then disappeared into the trees. Nico and I wait for a few minutes, then he stood up and ran the opposite way.

Then finally, I stood up and ran straight.

I broke through the foliage, but still kept myself hidden in the long grass. Harman was sitting in small clearing, holding a scary knife, and Rosamund was walking around with a mallet. Then Mahogany was yelling at them, her sword sheathed in it's scabbard.

This plan just had to work.
