As you may have noticed, Broken has a new cover(: My thanks go to @FearTheMightyPickle for creating it. It may not look exactly like Annabelle but it's still beautiful and amazing(: @TheDreamingGirl13, I finally got that list! And @EvilZombieCupcake, I think I'm starting to become a fan of Paramore...(:

The chapter is short, but that is only because I wanted a cliffhanger(: I hope it is good enough for you.

Enjoy! ~Kaitlyn

I stood as far away from Summer as I could (After crying over her death) and watched the hovercraft take her away. Just Fable and me left. I was really going to die now.

I looked at the mountain lion carcass in anger. The stupid Capitol has taken too much from me; my siblings, my parents, and my allies who I never felt closer to in years.

I searched through the backpacks for supplies. A selection of knives, Nico's sword, Gemma's axe, a handful of blueberries, and the cooked rabbit. I'm set for an okay survival. But there's no use to being up here any longer. Fable is probably going to kill me anyway and I don't trust this area anymore.

I swing the backpack over my shoulders and walk away with the dark and bloody nightmares at my heels.

----ONE DAY LATER----

I woke up in the middle of the night to a noise.

Unfortunately, it's not a cannon, and it's not the sound of an animal stalking me. It's a faint beeping noise coming from around my campground.

Eagerly, I got up and searched the dirt ground and the long grass. Finally, I came upon a metal canister tied to a silver parachute. I ripped the cords away, unscrewed the lid, and peered inside. There was a tiny bottle filled with a slightly thick, foggy liquid, a small bundle of rope, and a slip of paper. I pulled the bottle out first and examined it. It wasn't water for two reasons: The color was off and the river was my water supply.

I pulled the container out and pulled the cap off. I almost took a deep whiff of it, then I stopped myself. I didn't know how, but I knew this stuff was poison. But why would Adrian send me poison? I didn't have my bow and arrow anymore, and I never heard of dipping a knife in poison. I pulled out the rope. I didn't really need a rope in my condition, but I guessed if it was a tool, then I'd accept it.

Finally, I took the tiny slip of paper and read the text.

Use these wisely. Everyone wants you to come home   -A

The next morning, I tied the bottle of poison to the rope and wrapped it around my waist like a belt. I'd made it down at least half of the mountain yesterday, and the trees were starting to turn into shrubs and grass. The ocean was much more audible now, and thankfully, Fable was no where in sight.

I pulled out my knife from my backpack. I remembered how much game there was here; deer, rabbits, fish, squirrels, birds, and the occasional turkey. There were blueberry bushes too. I plucked the berries off the bushes and hunted down a few squirrels.

I was about the skin the squirrels when a knife stabbed the tree next to me.
