"Don't ever forget this piece advice because this might save your life."

The woman stared at Airene's green eyes as she took her palm.

"Remember."

She made a long pause.

"The men that you will encounter this year will only bring danger your life." She leaned closer to Airene's ear.

"They're badluck."

The fortune teller said before examining Airene's palm. "Also next year." Her eyebrows narrowed and flinched from seeing the girl's future.

"In other words, your life sucks." The fortune teller commented. Maxine puts both hands on her mouth to resist the urge to laugh. The fortune teller was brutally honest.

"Um thanks?" Airene said even though she didn't take what the woman told her as a good sign. She was already the queen of badluck, not to mention that she was a magnet to it.

At first, she didn't expect that the thought would linger on her head like a parasite but soon as she realize that it did, she learned to quickly shook the unreasonable thoughts off. For her, luck was nothing more than fate favoring other people than her.

"You know, you would actually die a virgin if you're that unlucky." Maxine stated for the hundredth time as if she was constantly reminding Airene about it again all the while pulling Airene in a crowded street.

"Never heard that one before." Airene plainly said but making sure that scarcasm was in plain sight. Even with the thick clothes and the scarf, Airene would still slightly shiver if the cold breeze of winter would hit her skin, sending a wave of nausea on her stomache. Maxine took full notice of this.

"You know you wouldn't be shivering that much if you could find man that would warm you up especially in bed. "  Maxine said with a wink.

Airene rolled her eyes then sighed at her friend's eagerness.

"Maxine, you'll never need other people's skin to survive and I'm not the type of person that wants to get laid on just because I'm cold."

They then entered a fast food restaurant, which made Airene more than relief that the cold air was behind them as she closed the door.

"Yeah right. Then having a teddy bear doesn't?" Maxine pointed out while they made their way towards an unoccupied table near the glass pane that helps them have the view of the outside world."Aren't you too old for that?"

"Aren't you too old to be afraid with spiders?" Airene quickly replied with a smirk.

Maxine looked offended."Hey, it's scientifically proven that even adults could have a phobia of spiders."

"Yes, but not all adults almost burn their whole apartment because a tiny spider is on the lose,Maxine." She pointed out.

"I was drunk that time." She said with a toothy grin in her face, having no regrets or whatsoever.

A waiter arrived to take their order. Maxine , being the conservative one despite her personality saying otherwise just ordered shakes for the two of them since she was fan of the restaurant's shakes. Something she told Airene a year ago.

Airene suppressed a giggle. "Yeah sure. Anyway what's the surprise you were talking about?" She asked then continued on sipping her vanilla shake.

"It's still a surprise." She made a pause to sip the remaining liquid as it travelled upward her straw."And I have no intentions on telling you till you see it with your own eyes." Maxine said with a wink and giggled at herself.
