Jamie's POV
I had managed to help at least ten other people before mom called me over.Just a few minutes ago, first responders had gotten here so paramedics and fire fighters dodged me as they ran past.
I reached mom just as she helped somebody into an ambulance. "That's the last one, meet you at back at the DEO." She told me.
She hadn't shown any emotion what so ever in that whole sentance which means she's holding everything back till we're alone.
Mom took off into the sky and i watch a red streak of lightining follow her from the ground.
After double-checking to make sure that nobody is left behind, i start making my way back to the DEO.
I stay hidden in the shadows, because by now, my regular clothes are somewhere in the trash.
All i have to wear is my costume.
Eventually, i make it back to the DEO.
When i walk in, the first thing i encounter is a hug. It's from mom.
I wrap my arms around her and she whispers, "I'm glad you're safe."
When she pulls back, she leaves her hands on my shoulders and examines me, most likely looking at the cut on my head that i totally had forgot about untill now.
"Come on, we need to get you check out." She says, a little more worried now.
I nod my head and mom walks with me slowly to the medical room, Aunt Alex is waiting inside.
When i walk inside she looks from me to mom and then back to me.
Mom nudges me toward the table and then goes to talk to Aunt Alex while i take a seat on the medical bed.
Aunt Alex glances at me and then back at mom.
They talk for a few more moments before mom leaves and Aunt Alex walks over.
She examines the cut on my head and grabs a few cloth's, not saying a word. She dabs away some of the blood then pours alcohol onto the cloth.
I wince at the stinging the contact with the cloth creates but i don't move away.
"Hold that there." She finally speaks.
Aunt Alex holds the cloth on my head untill i move my hand up to hold it there myself.
"I'll be back soon to take you and your mom home." Aunt Alex sets some stuff on the counter and does a bit of work on the computer across the room from me.
"Thankyou." I say.
Then, Aunt Alex leaves and i watch her talk with Hank down the hall until they dissapear through two doors.
Sitting here seems like a deathining silence compared to what i had witnessed out there. So peaceful, almost.
Mom comes into the room moments later, seemingly calm.
"Ready to go, kiddo?" She holds out a change of clothes for me.
I smile and throw the cloth onto the bed i had just gotten off of.
She leaves me to get changed and then i meet her outside the doors of the room, her having changed into a flannel and pants.
