Chapter 4
The song is "I Love You" by Chris Brown and Ester Dean.
It is finally Friday and I couldn’t be happier. The week went by smoothly and Anthony and Marcus seemed to really like my company. Staci has been pissed off all week and gave me the eye from time to time. I can’t help it if her boyfriend likes me. I have a boyfriend anyway so I’m not even interested in him. Speaking of boyfriend, “I Love You” by Chris Brown started to play on my phone letting me know that Devin is calling. “Hey, Devin, what’s up?” I said eagerly. We haven’t talked since Monday because he’s so busy with Football. “I’m great, bae. How ‘bout you?” he said but not really sounding too happy. “Well that’s good. How you been holding up without me?” I joked making him laugh a little. “I’m dying!” he laughed. We talked on the phone for about an hour before he had to go to work. I practically slammed my head back onto my bed and stared at my ceiling and plain white walls. Tomorrow’s the day that we start painting the house, finally. I’m ready to paint my room hot pink and cover it with pictures.

I picked up my laptop and walked over to the office area of my room. I put it on the desk and log into Facebook. I saw that Anthony had sent me another message. He said he understood my decision and that I could add him whenever I’m ready. I checked out some other notifications then decided to go on Devin’s page. There was a bunch of football information posted and spam too. Then I scrolled down and saw a post from a girl named Sindy.
I had fun with my ex hottie “Devin Football Star Lewis” last night. He’s still as great a guy as he was when we were together in 9th grade. : )
What the hell? It was posted on Wednesday night when he said he was at a football get together. What was she doing there and why? I know he isn’t gonna start messing around with her again. We’ve been having such a good relationship and I can feel that she’s gonna mess it up. I would call him now but I know he’s at work so I call Tyler. “Hey, Janette what’s up?” she said as she picked up the phone. “Did you know that Sindy’s back?” I asked. She was quiet and she didn’t answer. “Tyler, did you!” I yelled now knowing that she did in fact know and didn’t tell me. “I’m so sorry, Skai. I didn’t want to ruin your mood up on Monday when you had a good day.” she said sounding apologetic. “But you know how I feel about her!” I yelled again. I had stolen Devin away from Sindy in 9th grade because I was crushing on him since middle school and she treated him wrong. I always comforted him whenever he was sad and we just got closer. One day we were hanging out at my house and he kissed me. The next day, he went to school and dumped Sindy. She was so mad that she made her parents switch schools the next week. We haven’t heard from her since and now she’s back. I know she’s gonna start trouble. “I’m really sorry.” She said again. I rolled my eyes. “You’re fine. I’m gonna go ok?” I said rushing off the phone. “Ok. Ttyl.” She said and I hung up. I don’t know what I’m going to do but I’ve got to do something before the wrong thing happens.
I hear a lot of commotion going on downstairs and it sounds pretty bad. I speed walk down my stair case and the other one. I made a left off the stairs and headed to the kitchen. Sebastian was sitting down at the kitchen table and there was a policeman standing above him along with a lady in a black suit, my mom and Joe. I hid behind the couch in the family room. “Where did you get drugs from, Sebastian?” my mom yelled. “Cause I sure as hell didn’t give it to you!” she yelled angrily. I cannot believe he had drugs with him. Well actually I can. I had my suspicions last year. “I…found it…in the boys’ bathroom…at school.” He stuttered. “So that meant you had to pick it up?” she asked getting closer and closer to him. I can feel a slap coming on. I could hear footsteps on the stairs and I figured it was the twins. I saw them poke their heads out from the stairs and I shooed them away. I don’t wanna get caught eavesdropping. “Young man we are going to investigate this at your school as well. You don’t want us to find out that you’re lying because you will go to juvenile.” The policeman spoke. Sebastian was freshly 15 so jail isn’t an option for him just yet. The policeman and my mom kept questioning him while Joe looked highly upset as well. He turned to walk off and came toward the family room. He came to sit on the couch but jumped when he saw me. “I didn’t see you there.” He practically yelled but my mom was so loud that she couldn’t hear him. “I just heard a lot going on so I came down. Are you ok?” I asked. He shook his head in disappointment. “I was on my way home and stopped at the gas station when I see two policemen putting Sebastian in the back of their car. I ran out and asked what was going on. The police were looking for a kid his age and spotted him. He looked suspicious and ran when the police got out of the car. When they caught him, they realized it was because he had marijuana on him.” He said. I gasped at the sight. “I begged them not to throw him in juvie because I know he can be a good kid. They insisted they drive him home behind of me and speak with your mom. He is now on house arrest for 30 days and have 100 hours of community service when the 30 days are up.” He continued. I looked over into the kitchen just as the lady was putting an ankle bracelet on Sebastian. She was telling him the consequences of going anywhere besides school and home. “Wow, this is a new low for him.” I said shaking my head. What happened to him? He was never like this when dad was here. Maybe he needs attention or something. This shouldn’t be the attention he wants though.
