6 Months Later...

Sabrina is six months old now.

She has defenitely warmed out hearts and lifted our spirits.

She is the light of my life. The one and only Mathews girl that will never in a million years be able to date any boy unless I meet him.

Me and Two-bit already had a talk about upcoming boys and the ones we will have to turn down.

As I was watching the tv, Sabrina started making giggling sounds.

I quickly paused the tv and slid down next to her.

Two-bit was working late again which is ok because he's the one paying for this house along with my shifts at the diner downtown.

I said, "C'mon Sabrina, you can do it! Say 'mama'"

She looked at me and began to make squealing sounds.

I said, "C'mon Sabrina you can do it. Look at me."

She started to giggle probably at me looking stupid trying to get my daughter to say her first words.

She grabbed my nose with her soft hand squeezing it slightly and letting out the sound, "Mama."

A big smile appeared on my face. I said, "Yes, that's it, Sabrina! You did it!"

I finally got her to say her first words which is a big milestone in her life.

She started drooling on her bib. I said, "Oh, Sabrina, look at the mess you did."

She giggled again. Champ suddenly came in the room wagging his tail like usual.

I petted him all over the place and gave him a kiss right on the top of his head.

It was getting late too late for work, and I was worried about Two-bit.

He always come home right after work. Our neighborhood was like Tulsa.

When we first moved into our new place, I thought it would be best to have Sabrina safe.

But this place is not as I thought it'd be. It was too late though.

We already bought it, after I found out about it.

At night, the worst messed up people you can imagine walks right across our street.

No one bothers to come down our street in the morning.

Which was a pretty good thing. But at night it's scary.

As I listened to the sound of the loud thunderstorm swarming outside, and rocking our sweet precious angel, I looked out the window waiting for him to come home.

All of a sudden, I see his headlights coming up hitting the window.

He's home. I quickly got up and left Sabrina in her crib.

Champ stayed up with me, he was the protector of our house.

Champ followed me as I made my way to the front porch.

Our house was big on the inside, but small on the outside.

You could hear everything. I closed the door behind me leaving Champ and the baby inside.

I was very upset with him. As he parked the truck and met me on the porch, I said, "Where were you?"

He said, "Somewhere..." I said, "Do you know how late it is?"

Two-bit said, "Yeah, around ten." I said, "Ten? Hell, no! It's past midnight, Keith!"

He knows I use his real name when I'm upset with him.

He said, "Well, I'm sorry." I said, "No! Sorry is not going to cut it!"

He said, "Well, what more do you want from me?"

I said, "I want you to be here! I want you to call me when you are going to stay late.

Or stay wherever the hell you were!" He said, "We have a baby inside the house you shouldn't...!"

I cut him off, "Don't even bring her into this when you don't even care about her!"

He said, "Babe, can you listen to yourself?"

I said, "I am doing everything! You don't care about me anymore and you don't care about her!"

I could hear Champ barking waking up the baby.

Sabrina started to scream as the lightning struck hard.

Two-bit said, "Ok, look I'm sorry I left you can't we just forget this happened?"

I opened the door to go check up on Sabrina.

He grabbed my arm as I turned around.

He said, "C'mon Dixie, you don't have to go running in every time she cries."

I looked him straight in the eyes and said, "Watch me."

I opened the door to go inside finding Sabrina in her crib.

Her face was as red as a tomato as she was screaming.

I picked her up and sat down in the big rocking chair swaying back and forth.

I said, "Shhhh....sabrina...Shhhh." I grabbed one of her birthday Sippy cups and filled it with milk still holding her.

Two-bit stood at the door way watching me feed her.

He said, "Babe." I looked up at him and said, "Keith, just drop it..."

Sabrina was calming down once again making me relieved.

Two-bit was heading to our room, but I stopped him.

I got up with Sabrina giving him a pillow and a blanket.

I said, "You can sleep in the living room tonight."

I closed our bedroom door right in his face. I let Sabrina sleep with me in our room:

I kissed her head goodnight as I fell asleep with her sleeping on my stomach with her head on my chest

I kissed her head goodnight as I fell asleep with her sleeping on my stomach with her head on my chest.

I didn't need Two-bit and his excuses for tonight.

I was just exhausted with the day I've had. I closed my eyes falling into a deep sleep.
