Embarrassed as it was, I just had to get out of the house.

I passed Buck walking downstairs, and walked out the front door.

As everyone watched me leave in complete silence, Two-bit was the one who followed me.

"Dixie, hey wait up. Slow down, your going too fast for me." I said, "Yeah, that's the point."

Two-bit was now walking beside me out of breath. He said, "What you said back there, was it true? Do you really love me?"

I didn't say anything. I just started looking at the rocks. He lightly grabbed my arm and said, "Hold up."

I turned towards him and said, "Look, it doesn't matter because you obviously like that Kathy girl."

A tear dropped out of my eye, but I quickly wiped it away. He said, "No, I don't they..."

I interrupted, "They what? They made you kiss her? Is that what your trying to say? Because it looked like you didn't mind."

He said, "No, I do it's just that..." I cut him off again, "It's just nothing Two-bit. It was all just too good to be true." He grew silent.

I said, "Go back there and enjoy the party. Just leave me alone."

Feeling guilty, I watched as he hesitantly turned around and walked away.

I don't know if he's going back or not. I'm still a little worried with my voice to be honest.

The doctor said I wouldn't be able to talk for a month, but I'm talking the day after.

Whatever, at least I can talk now. I decided to go to the local park to just sit down and think.

Little did I know, I would have company. Tears filled my eyes as I walked toward the bench.

Stupid feelings why can't they all just go away. I walked over to the bench and before

I could even sit down, this furry dog beat me to it:

I quickly dried my eyes and petted it. I said, "Hi there."

The dog started to lick my arm. I sat beside the dog on the bench and he happily climbed onto my lap.

I said, "What a good, boy." I then noticed the collar he had been wearing the whole time.

I lifted it up to read out loud, "Lady." Her tail started wagging.

There was a number underneath the name. xxx-xxx-xxxx. (I'm not writing an actual number)

I searched through my pockets and found a phone quickly calling the number.

Riiiiiing....Riiiiiiing....Riiiiiing...

Suddenly a voice picked up, "Hello Tulsa Animal Shelter, how may I help you"
