I cracked the second egg into the pan below me, hearing the sizzle, and it was like music to my ears. I stirred the eggs until they were perfectly scrambled, satisfied with my work. Audrey had told me how much she loves eggs for breakfast so I thought it would be nice to surprise her this morning with her favorite.
I added a small amount of pepper, and I stirred them around until they were done. I grabbed a plate, getting the eggs on them and placing it on the counter top and waited for her to wake up, realize I was gone, and come down to find me to see my wonderful surprise.
As I was cleaning my mess, I felt a pair of arms snake around me and a head rested on my shoulder. I bit my lip, knowing it was Audrey. "Oh I see how it is. You make my favorite for you and I don't get any?" She snorted.
"Actually, shithead, those are all yours." She smiled at me, grabbing the plate and practically shoved them in her face. She must have been hungry.
"How are you feeling today?" I asked, as she looked up at me with a mouth full of scrambled eggs and gave me a thumbs up. I laughed at how silly she was. It was like this often, even if she's been beaten half to death. It had been about a week now since the incident, and Audrey was healing slowly but surely. Her eye is now a light pink instead of a dark purple and black, her lips are getting less swollen, but most of the bruises on her body were still fresh. Not too bad, but not too healed either.
Audrey got up to throw away her plate, thanking me for making her breakfast, and for taking care of her. She couldn't even undress herself to get in the shower. It broke my heart, because every time I helped, I had to see those bruises.
She slowly pushed me against the counter, getting close enough to where I could barely breathe having her this close. I sat up on the counter, bringing her closer to me, and she stood in between my legs. "I love you. I feel like I could never get tired of saying it," she whispered, her breath against my neck.
As tempting as she was, she knew she had work today. "Shouldn't you be getting to work, love?" I asked, as she brought me down and lead me to the couch. She laid me down, kissing my lips gently. "Oh, about that... I'm just in so much pain! I think maybe I should stay here," she joked, but at the same time she was serious about it. I rolled my eyes playfully, trying to keep my hands off of where I knew her bruises were.
Audrey kissed my neck, sucking at the spot right under my ear. "You're so... Horny lately," I chuckled as she placed wet kisses along my jawline. I wasn't complaining, but she wanted to have sex like, all the time suddenly. "I can't get enough of you, baby. You're so hot," she whispered, almost in a moan.
I sighed. "Okay, fine. But, don't hurt yourself okay?" I told her, and she nodded before continuing what she had started.

"That will be $3.40, miss Jensen," Emma joked, handing me the coffee I had ordered. I thanked her, going to find a seat next to Noah. He laughed when I sat down, pointing to a spot on my neck. He raised an eyebrow at me, and I responded by tossing my hood over my head and covering the dark hickey that was on my neck.
"That's so freshman year," he laughed. "Jesus she must have been sucking the fu—"
"Okay, Noah. You can stop now." I held my hand out, and he stopped blabbering about the hickey Harley gave me. He rolled his eyes, scoffing and going back to reading his book. A girl sat next to Noah, giving me a small smile. But, it didn't seem friendly or normal. "Can I help you?" I asked, taking a sip of my coffee.
"You don't remember me?" She asked, tilting her head and pouting. I shook my head, and she laughed. "So you don't remember Gina and I beating you down? You can't run, Jensen. Watch your back—"
"Actually, I think you'd better watch yours, bitch." A voice interrupted from behind the girl, and I turned to see an infuriated Harley glaring the girl down. "Or what, freak show?" She laughed, looking around to see if anyone was paying attention. She pushed Harley back, stepping closer to her in order to be intimidating. I was far too weak to fight her, but I knew I had to try. Harley then shoved the girl against our table, and she fell over Noah's food and spilled my coffee all over her shirt.
She grabbed Harley's hair and pulled at it, attempting to punch her but I stood up and shoved her to the wall, holding her to it with all the strength I had left in me. "I will kill you," I seethed. Noah grabbed my shoulders and pried me off of the girl.
Another girl came walking through, grabbing her arm and taking her away. "Come on, Briana. Another time." They both glared at us before walking out of the grindhouse. "Well who the fuck was the second one?" Noah asked, clearing his throat. Harley shrugged, as did I.
The first one must have been Briana, as that was what the second girl had called her. Harley's — as I assume now would be ex — best friend. I hugged Harley, making sure she was alright. "Lets go," Noah said, grabbing his now squished muffin and heading out the front door. We followed him, and I was prepared to hurt Briana if I saw her again.

It was late as I walked home from the movie theater, pretty much yawning every step of the way. Harley and I had watched a movie together, but I wasn't paying attention to the movie. I only payed attention to her beauty. I stared at her the whole time.
I made my way through people's yards, making it back to my house in hopes of seeing Harley once again. There was a chance she'd go home tonight, which made me sad. I loved waking up next to her every morning.
I was only a block from my house, and my phone mysteriously rang. It was very late at night, so I assumed it was Harley. The caller ID was unknown, and my entire spine shivered. I answered the phone, putting it up to my ear cautiously. "H—hello?" I said, waiting to hear that bone chilling voice. "Hey, babe. I'm at a payphone, I lost mine but I just wanted to let you know that I'll be home soon." I sighed in relief, hearing that sweet voice that belonged to Harley.
"Okay, baby. I'll see you soon," I said, hanging up the phone and putting it back in my pocket. Only moments later, it rang again. It had the same unknown caller ID, and I knew it was Harley that had to tell me one last thing. I answered the phone, putting it up to my ear as I made my way up the driveway. "Hey," I greeted her, and there was a small bit of silence from the other line for a few moments.
"Hey, killer. Miss me?"
