HARLEY

I woke feeling a warm arm draped across my waist, holding me tightly to their warm body. Protecting me. I smiled immediately, knowing it was none other than the love of my life. She sensed that I was awake, placing a small kiss under my ear before nuzzling her head in the crook of my neck. Feeling her breathing against my skin calmed me down.

Her grip tightened against me, acting as if she didn't hold on tight enough, I would be gone. I closed my eyes, still exhausted from the incredible night before. I don't regret this, I couldn't. Any harm that had been done in the past, was over now. I knew it was over as I lay here in Audrey's arms, not regretting one thing. I can't regret it. I won't.

She places small kisses under my earlobe, before snuggling her head back in the crook of my neck and letting out a happy sigh. I could tell there was a smile on her face. Anything that we had ever faced didn't seem to matter in this exact moment. I was just so thankful to have her. Something in me felt like this wouldn't last forever, and maybe that strong feeling was right. I could always sense something wrong. I hated it.

"Morning, baby," she whispered as she bit her lip slightly, most likely thinking about the night before. A few minutes of comfortable silence, and she had looked liked she realized something. "Fuck."

She quickly stood up, throwing on her clothes and grabbing her phone to dial someone's number. I stood up, asking her what was wrong with full concern plastered on my face. "What is it?"

She tossed her phone in her pocket, grabbing my hand and telling me to get dressed. "I'm going to be late for Brooke's party. I completely forgot," she rushed as I threw on some clothes as well and followed her out to her car.

I sighed of relief as I got in her car, thankful that it wasn't something too serious. "Don't they all have their own lives? I thought y'all just... split up?" I asked as she began driving to Brooke's party. She didn't answer, but just felt extremely tense. "Audrey?"

"I'm sorry. It's complicated. Yeah, we don't hang out but I told her I'd come so I can't just bail. I don't even think she's met you yet." She tightened her grip on the steering wheel as she focused both of her beautiful eyes on the road. It wasn't too long of a drive, but my jaw dropped when Audrey pulled into a huge mansion like house in town. "Jesus. She lives here?" I asked, baffled by the sight. Houses like these were where the best parties were.

"Welcome to the life of having a rich blonde friend," she snorted as she jumped out of her truck, making her way to my side to help me down. She wrapped her hands around me waist, lifting me off the seat and onto the ground. When I landed, I was right in front of her and took the time to steal a kiss before we headed inside.

We were immediately greeted by a beautiful blonde, smiling ear to ear as she hugged Audrey quickly. She turned to me, shaking my hand with the same ear to ear smile. "I'm Brooke. You must be the girl Audrey told me about," she squealed. I felt extremely shy, but shook her hand and flashed her a smile. "I'm Harley." I kept my shy smile on until she eventually focused her attention toward Audrey.

I slithered out of Audrey's grasp, making my way toward the alcohol. If I was going to be here, I was going to get wasted. I picked up a bottle of vodka, but decided not to drink. I needed to be the one to drive Audrey home if she is drunk.
