Wicked Love

Chapter 2

Mal, Evie, and Jay have finished making chocolate chip cookies that are mixed with Mal's love spell. The tear of sadness they used came from Ally, which Evie collected but she won't reveal how she made Ally cry. All that was left is to make sure Carlos eats it in front of Jane so that his love for her will be brought into the light.

The three VKs head to cafeteria, where Carlos was sitting down with Jane, reading her chemistry textbook with her.

"Aren't they so cute?" said Evie.

"They sure are," agreed Mal. "Okay, remember, Carlos has to be looking at Jane when he eats the cookie."

Mal gives the bag of cookies to Evie.

"Hey, why does she get to be the one to give Carlos the push? I'm his bro," protested Jay.

"Well, I'm his first friend," replied Evie.

"Funny. I never see you two hang out together since we got here to Auradon," argued Jay.

"How dare you?!" exclaimed Evie.

"Ugh! Never mind. I'll do it," said an exasperated Mal.

Mal takes the bag of cookies from Evie and approaches the puppy lover. She looks over her shoulder and sees Evie and Jay silently bickering. Ignoring them, she hides the bag behind her back as she made it to Carlos' table.

"Hey, Carlos," greeted Mal. "Hey, Jane."

"Mal, not here, please," pleaded Carlos.

"What?" asked Jane, confused.

"Relax, Carlos," said Mal. She shows him the bag. "I made some cookies. I needed someone to try them and since you love chocolate, I thought maybe you're the perfect taste tester."

Carlos looks at Jane and says, "Jane, can you give us a moment?"

"Jane, no!" panicked Mal. Realizing how she sounds, she calmly says, "I thought maybe you'd like a cookie, too."

"I'd love to, but it seems you two have something to talk about," said Jane. "I'll see you later."

Jane picks up her textbook and leaves. Mal was about to call for her, but it was too late.

"Look, Mal, about yesterday," started Carlos. "I appreciate you and the others trying to help me with Jane, I really am. But the truth is... while I do like Jane... there's someone else."

"Oh," replied Mal, a little surprised.

"The real reason I didn't want to ask Jane is because... this other girl... I just can't stop thinking about her," said Carlos. "I can't move on with Jane if I can't move on."

"Who is this girl?" asked Mal.

"I, uh..." Carlos hesitated, afraid to tell.

Mal puts her hand on Carlos' shoulder in a comforting manner and tells him, "Hey, there's no need to be afraid. You know I'll be here for you if you ever need anything. Remember what we learned here in Auradon? Friends should be there for each other."

"Thanks, Mal," said Carlos with a smile.

Mal smiled back.

"Is there anything you can tell me about this other girl?" she asked.

"Well, she's a bit of a hothead, but she's beautiful, she's smart, and loves art," said Carlos.

"Sounds like an interesting girl," said Mal. "You should go for it."

Carlos looks at the bag of cookies in Mal's hand. He grabs it and opens it.

"Carlos, wait..."

It was too late. Carlos had already taken a bite of his first cookie. Mal took a few steps back, afraid of what's about to happen.

"Quite an improvement," said Carlos.

"Uh, thanks," said a nervous Mal. "H-How do you feel?"

"Great. Thanks to your cookie," said Carlos.

Carlos grabs another cookie and eats it. This worries Mal even more.

"Uh, Carlos, there's something I need to tell you," said Mal.

Carlos started staring at Mal. Mal couldn't tell what he was feeling. The expression on his face appeared blank. Mal walks closer to him. She tilts her head a few times as she tried to understand what is happening to him.

Unexpectedly, Carlos leans forward and plants his lips on Mal's. Everyone in the cafeteria noticed. They were shocked.

Mal immediately pushes Carlos away.

"What are you doing?" asked Mal.

"What I should've done a long time ago," answered Carlos, sounding like he's in love.

Mal notices everyone murmuring. She grabs Carlos and drags him away. She approaches Evie and Jay, who had strange looks on their faces.

"Let's get out of here," said Mal.

Mal continues dragging Carlos away. Evie and Jay exchanged looks before following.
