I just want to let you know that this is just a "test" story. This is my first time on Wattpad. I usually write on FanFiction, but I wanted to explore new terrain.

My name would probably tell you that I'm a Carvie (CarlosxEvie) shipper, but let's just say I'm a victim of the "Marlos" effect of the "Ways to be Wicked" music video for Descendants 2.

Carvie shipper or not, I kinda think Marlos is cute too.

It's safe to say that Mal isn't having the best of days. First, her plan to get Carlos to open up to Jane failed. Next, Audrey posted a picture of Carlos kissing her. Because of that, she can't go anywhere in Auradon Prep without seeing people looking at her strangely, murmuring to each other. She knew they were probably saying stuff like "Mal is a cheater" or anything related to it.

"Hey, Mal."

Mal recognized the voice that called her and she sighed in response. To be honest with herself, she wasn't in the mood to see anyone, friend or fellow student. She turns around and sees Lonnie.

"Hey," greeted Mal.

Lonnie holds up her phone, showing the picture of Mal and Carlos kissing.

"Everyone, and not just here in Auradon Prep, are going nuts over this, and not in the good way," said Lonnie.

"Lonnie, please, I have enough to deal with without anyone rubbing this in my face literally," said Mal.

"I just saw Ben today and he is not happy about this," said Lonnie.

"Just leave me alone, Lonnie," said Mal, walking away from Mulan's daughter.

Mal's day just got a whole lot worse when she saw someone who, for once, she didn't want to see. It was Ben, waiting for her by her locker.

"Uh, hi, Benny-Boo," greeted Mal with a nervous smile, trying to act casual.

Ben wasn't smiling. Mal dropped hers.

"Care to explain this?" asked Ben, holding up his phone, showing Audrey's picture of Mal and Carlos.

"It's not what you think," said Mal.

"Then what was it?" asked Ben.

Mal sighs before speaking. "Evie, Jay, and I have been trying to get Carlos to tell Jane how he feels about her. So, we made some cookies... and added my love spell to it. Safe to say things didn't go so well."

"Carlos ate the cookie and fell in love with you," guessed Ben.

"Jane left before he ate it and he was looking at me when he swallowed," further explained Mal.

"I assume you're making an anti-love potion already," assumed Ben.

"Bad news, I'm afraid," said Mal, sighing. "I made some alterations. Only true love's kiss can break the spell, and the kiss has to be of pure love from both sides."

"So, Carlos is still in love with you?" asked Ben.

"I don't love him, well, not the romantic way, so kissing him is not going to fix this," replied Mal.

"I'll go talk to Fairy God Mother," said Ben. "Maybe she has a way."

"Can't do that, Ben," said Mal. "I enchanted the spell so nothing, and I repeat, nothing else can break this spell other than a kiss. And before you ask, I only did it to bring them closer together."

"So, what are you gonna do?" asked Ben.

"You're not gonna like it, but we're gonna need to take a long, long break from each other," said Mal.

"What do you mean?" asked Ben, shocked.

"I don't want to see Carlos heartbroken for the rest of his life. I have to keep him smiling until I can figure something out," said Mal. "I told him I was planning on breaking up with you, but only so he thinks I'm available."

"Technically, you're breaking up with me now," said Ben.

"Look, Ben, I really don't want to do this, but I'm afraid we really have to take a break," said Mal. "Just until this is all over, I promise."

"I trust you," said Ben.

Mal smiled. "Thanks, Ben. Thank you for understand..."

Mal paused when she saw a familiar face coming towards her direction. It was Carlos, carrying Dude in his arms.

"Ben, you have to do what I tell you right now," whispered Mal. "Play along?"

"What?" Ben was confused.

For some reason, Mal shoved Ben with both her hands.

"You heard me! We're through! We're done!" she yelled.

Nearby students, including Carlos, looksed the daughter of Maleficent and the King of Auradon. The former's yell attracted their attention.

"Carlos is my one true love," continued Mal. "He's the one I want to be with for the rest of my life. I'm sorry, Ben, but you're just gonna have to find another future queen."

Ben turns his head a little and saw Carlos from his peripheral view. He realized what Mal was doing. He faces her and gives her a nod, telling her that he knows what to do.

"Fine," he said, pretending to be affected by her words. "If that's you want, I respect your wishes."

Mal looks over Ben's shoulders and sees Carlos. She runs towards him and puts one arm around him and gives him a kiss on the cheek.

"Hey, babe," greeted Mal. "Just tellin' Beast Boy here that I'm all yours."

Carlos smiles.

"Well, I'll, uh, let you two have your moment," said Ben awkwardly.

Ben walks away but not before subtly winking at Mal, assuring her there are no hard feelings. Once Ben was out of sight, Mal looked back at Carlos, trying to act as flirty as she can.

"Still up for that bowling game this weekend?" she asked.

"Absolutely," said Carlos.

The bell rings, which means it was time for everyone to proceed to their respective classes.

"Well, I'll see you later... snowball," said Mal.

Carlos chuckled. "Never thought I'd love to hear that."

Carlos leans in for a kiss, but Mal puts her finger on his lips.

"Maybe when we're alone," she said.

"If you say so," said Carlos.

Carlos proceeds to his next class, while Mal was met with dozens of glares by her fellow students. Once again, she buries her face in her hand.

For the love of mother, she cursed mentally.
