After the school day was over, Mal meets up with Carlos for R.O.A.R. practice. He was in uniform and practicing some swings with his sword.

"Hey, Zorro," greeted Mal jokingly.

Carlos chuckled.

"I think I need a mask for that," said Carlos.

Carlos kisses Mal in the cheek and then gives her a sword. Mal touched the cheek where Carlos kissed her, a swirl of emotions building up inside her. Carlos noticed the look on her face.

"I figured since you're uncomfortable with the real thing," said Carlos.

"Well, nice to know we're taking things slow," said Mal.

"If it's what you want," said Carlos.

Mal and Carlos started sparring. Carlos was going easy on Mal since it's her first time. Mal, however, wasn't taking it easy. She shows some fury on her swings, forcing Carlos to react quickly.

"You're taking this a little too seriously," said Carlos.

"I'm doing this to help you and myself," said Mal.

Mal continued swinging left and right. Carlos had to defend himself. The two locked blades, trying to push as hard as they can. Mal kicks Carlos' leg, causing him to fall down on his back.

"Okay, that was dirty," said Carlos.

"Being good doesn't mean I still can't play dirty," said Mal.

"If that's how you like it," said Carlos.

Carlos kicks Mal's leg, causing her to fall. Unfortunately, Mal landed on his stomach, causing him to grunt in pain. Mal laughs.

"Okay, that was fun," said Mal.

"For you, I guess," said Carlos.

Mal turns over and faces Carlos. Carlos' face turns red when he notices how close they were face-to-face. Mal couldn't help but smile, amused by his embarrassment.

"Expecting a kiss?" Mal teased.

"Kind of," said Carlos.

"You lost, so I'm afraid no," said Mal, smirking.

"Way to break my heart," joked Carlos.

To Mal's surprise, Carlos flips her and himself over. Now, he's the one on top of her.

"Nice to know you like to play," said Mal.

"I can still be rotten for you," said Carlos.

Before the two can continue teasing each other, Lil'Shang enters the room.

"Uh, Carlos, this is the practice room for the R.O.A.R. team, not the janitor's closet," said Lil'Shang.

"We were just practicing," said Carlos, getting off Mal and helping her up.

"If you ask me, you need to teach him to be more ferocious," Mal said to Lil'Shang.

"Fencing isn't about ferocity. It's about skill," said Lil'Shang.

"Whatever mini-Shang," replied Mal. "Well, if we're done here, I have a Remedial Goodness exam to study for."

"Actually, I was planning on taking you somewhere tonight," said Carlos.

"Where?" asked Mal.

"It's a surprise," said Carlos.

- ROTTEN TO THE CORE -

It was date night once again for Mal and Carlos. Once again, Evie designed a dress for the occasion. This time, she made Mal a purple dress with some silver features.

"Uh, E, I think you may have ripped this by accident," said Mal, observing the reaps in the dress.

"Oh, those aren't tears," said Evie, smirking.

"Seriously?!" Mal yelled. "I think a slit on the skirt is enough."

Evie started laughing. "Yeah, no, it's not."

"E, I'm trying to get through this pretending-to-love-Carlos thing without losing my mind. You putting me in these dresses just to see him blush, it's not helping," said Mal, tossing the dress back to Evie. "I'm not wearing it."

"Hey, I made him a very nice tux for this evening," said Evie.

"Really, Evie?" questioned Mal, one eyebrow raised. Sarcastically, she asks, "Did you make clothes for every possible kind of date between me and Carlos?"

"Actually, yes," said Evie.

"You are having way too much fun," said Mal. "Well, I'm done being your doll."

"At least wear something nice," said Evie.

Mal grabs a purple jacket and heads to the door. When she opened it, she sees Carlos standing right there, about to knock. He was wearing the new tuxedo Evie made for him. The left half was silvery white. The right side was black.

"Nice tux," said Mal.

"Thank Evie for that," said Carlos, smiling at the blue-haired friend. "Didn't she make you something special for tonight?"

"I'm not wearing it," said Mal.

"Let me guess. Too revealing?" guessed Carlos.

Mal looked shocked by Carlos' words.

"I can tell you hated the dress she made you on our last date," said Carlos. "Why else would you be wearing the jacket?"

Mal turned red with abashment.

"Hey, I may love you, but I'm not blind," said Carlos. "It's okay. You don't have to wear whatever Evie made you. You can wear whatever you want."

"Depends. Is this is a formal date or a casual date?" asked Mal.

"I think you look great," said Carlos, smiling.

Mal doesn't understand why she keeps blushing every time he compliments her beauty. He's under a love spell. His lovey-dovey words towards her were because of the spell. Yet, she can't stop herself from turning red and almost giggling.

Why am I feeling like this, she asked herself.

Again, if you leave a comment, don't just say "update please". I need time to plan the rest of the story, just like I need time to plan for Mal and Carlos' second date.
