Chapter 16: Nelly's Birthday Present

*Nelly's P.O.V.*

School just ended and it's Thursday. Tomorrow is February 12 (Aka the day before my aunt birthday). My birthday is on the 13th, basically before Valentine's Day. I don't have anything planned for either day yet, but I'm not all that excited. Who would be excited for aging? Plus, I haven't had all that much luck with Valentine's Day because I'm usually alone.

I walk out of school with my backpack and go to my new car. With the money that Melissa got from Elijah and Klaus, she bought me my very own Dodge Charger as an early birthday present! I love it so much! It's dark blue. She even bought Scott a new motorcycle.

I get into my car and turn on some music. My favorite song (I'm The One by Dj Khaled ft. Justin Bieber) comes on the radio and I start to sing. Someone knocks on my window and I turn the music down. I see Aphrodite and put the window down.

"Hey, Nelly," she waved.

"Hi."

"Can I have a ride? My grandma thinks the bus is too dangerous to ride in."

"Sure. Come on in," I say.

Aphrodite thanks me and I back out of the parking space I'm in. I start driving out of the school parking lot and go onto a road. Aphrodite tells me to drop her off at her house.

In three minutes, we arrive at her house and she thanks me again. We say our goodbyes to each other and she goes into her house. Before I can back out of the driveway, Aphrodite calls me.

"My mom wants to pay you for watching me on her date!" She yelled.

I turn my car off and get out. I walk to the door and follow Aphrodite to the kitchen. Her mom, grandma, and an old man are there. Delphyne (Aphrodite's mom) hands me $50 and I thank her. She introduces me to her mother and her mom's companion.

"This is Aphrodite's grandmother, Adelaide. This is her companion, Gerard Argent," she says.

"It's nice to meet you both," I say. "Wait. Did you say Argent? As in Chris and Allison Argent?"

"Chris Argent is his son and Allison is his granddaughter."

"Oh. That makes sense." I paused. "Well, I'd better get going. Stiles has some important news for me at home."

"It was nice meeting you young lady," Adelaide said.

"Yes, very nice," Gerard said.

I left and got into my car. When I got home, I saw Stiles' Jeep in the driveway. I got out of the car and went into the house. When I got to the living room, I saw a group of people there: Stiles, Melissa, Scott, Elijah, Tyler, Alaric, Bonnie, Allison, Liam, and Stefan.

"We have a surprise for you!" Stiles exclaimed.

"Care to explain?" I asked.

"Well, I am going to pay for you to go on a trip to Florida for your birthday," Elijah explained.

"And we're coming with you," Bonnie added.

"That's amazing! Thank you so much Elijah!" I yelled.

I ran to Elijah and gave him a big hug. He hugged me back and everyone surrounded us in a group hug.

"Pack your things. We leave tomorrow morning," Alaric said.

I packed some clothes and essentials that I needed for going to Florida. We are only staying there until Sunday because of school. I get to miss school tomorrow because we leave in the morning.

*Morning*

I am awakened by the sound of my alarm in my room. I get up slowly and go to Scott's room. I knock on the door of his bathroom and he comes out with a towel wrapped around his waist.
