Chapter 22: The Incident

**Aphrodite's P.O.V.**

It is a week into summer. School is finally over and my grandma is in jail with Gerard. The police don't know that Hope is dead yet. They just think that my grandmother and Gerard kidnapped her and tried to assault me and Nelly. Honestly, Hope's body just disappeared. Right after everything had happened, no one thought to put Hope's body somewhere, and when we went to where her body was, it was gone. Vanished. Nothing there. Natha. Zip. Nothing at all. Technically, Hope is missing. We just have to find her body first.

Right now, I'm just going to take a walk to clear my head. This past month has been crazy. Actually, I've been crazy. I've lost interest in things I loved, felt weird, and just not in my right mind. I don't know what's wrong with me.

Liam deserves better, but I can't bring myself to let him go. Is that selfish? No. It's not. It's human. But am I human? I don't even know what or who I am anymore. Supernatural? Human? Alien?

As I was thinking, something pushed me onto some grass. I look up and see a dirty guy on top of me. He whispers something that isn't audible.

"Get off me!" I yell and push him. He punches me and pushes me against a fence. His lips start kissing my neck and I smack him.

"I said get off!" I screamed.

**Nelly's P.O.V.**

A scream made its way to my ears and I felt a searing pain. I screamed and covered my ears. Tears fill my eyes and fall down my cheeks as I lay on the floor. Scott is next to me and doing the same thing. He cries for help and Melissa comes to us. She freaks out and doesn't know what to do.

"Oh my gosh! You're ears are bleeding!" Melissa screams as she looks at me.

The screaming I heard suddenly stopped. My ears are ringing and I can't hear anything else. Melissa holds me and Scott close to her and comforts us. I feel someone's sadness and struggle in me. It's just a faint feeling, but I know who's in trouble. Aphrodite.

"Aphrodite's in trouble. I have to go," I say to Melissa.

I run with my super speed to where Aphrodite is. She drops to the ground and is crying. I look around and see a man on the ground. He has bruises all over him and blood. I can hear his heartbeat, so he's still alive. I use my super speed to get him to the front of a hospital and compell a nurse to take him to a room. I run back to Aphrodite and see that she's still on the ground.

"What happened?" I ask her.

"I...I hurt him. How could I do that? How could I do that? How could I? How could I?" She repeated.

"Tell me what happened from the beginning."

She explained that he had tried to rape her and she got carried away with defending herself. She didn't mean to hurt him that much.

I bring Aphrodite to her house and sit her on the couch. She's still crying. Her mom suggests to take her to Eichen House so she can get better.

"Let's find out what's wrong first," I say.

We take Aphrodite to a doctor the next day and he diagnoses her with schizophrenia. Basically, it's a mental disorder involving breakdowns, hallucinations, and inappropriate actions/feelings. Aphrodite has been showing the symptoms, but we never thought she had a disorder.
