Chapter 20: The Exam

**Nelly's P.O.V.**

Today we have an exam in school. It's to test how much we know of what we learned this year. It counts for 40% of our grade. Stiles slept over at my house, so now we're going to get ready for school together. Melissa even made us some breakfast that she left on the table. It's kinda cold, but I could always heat it up.

I put on some comfortable sweat pants and a t-shirt. Stiles puts on some jeans, a t-shirt, and some flannel. While we eat breakfast, Scott comes and eats with us.

"Can you guys just get married already?" He jokes.

"Who would pay for the wedding? I don't have that kind of money," I pointed out.

"Melissa and the sheriff can split the cost. Duh."

"We're only in high school. I can't get married yet."

"Key word, yet. Just wait until we graduate. I bet you guys will be engaged by then."

"I agree with you, Scott," Stiles said with a smirk.

"Stiles, does that mean that you're planning to propose to me soon?!"

"No comment," he answered with a laugh.

After breakfast, we went to my car and I drove all of them to school. Aphrodite was waiting for me when I parked.

"Hey, Nelly!" She exclaimed.

"Hi, Aphrodite. You look happy today."

"Well, things with me and Liam have been going better."

"That's great!"

We all walked into a classroom and sat down in some seats. The desks were separated for the exam. More students filed in and took up the rest of the empty seats. The teacher explained the test rules and how our grade for this affects our overall grade for all classes because it has a section for every subject.

Once we started, everyone got quiet and opened their test. The first section was for math. I finished that within an hour. I turned into a hybrid when I was 16 and stopped going to school so I could travel. That gave me a lot of time to practice math and other things when I was bored.

Next, I finished the ELA section and Science. Those two were pretty easy. The very last section was social studies. When I finished the whole thing, I turned in my test to the teacher and made my way to the door. Right when I was about to walk out of the classroom, someone started coughing uncontrollably. The person passed out and when I looked to see who it was, I saw Katie. She was on the ground unconscious. Another person started coughing too and fell out of their chair. What is happening?

The teacher thought that a virus was spreading and I think she's right. A couple more people started coughing, but didn't pass out. Instead, red dots spread all over their body. Coach Finstock came into the classroom and called for some help. No one could leave or come in until they could figure out what happened to those students.

Stiles seemed fine, but I wanted him to get out of there. After doctors came and started checking the other students, I compelled the teachers to let Stiles go if he was okay. He ended up being fine and left.

Scott, Malia, Aphrodite, Bonnie, Allison, Liam, Stefan, Damon, Caroline, Lydia, and I stayed to make sure everyone was safe. The longer we stayed, the more I started to feel weird. I began to sweat a lot and snuck into the girls' locker room. There, I took my shirt off and rubbed my face with some cold water. What is wrong with me?

After a couple minutes, I heard someone coming toward me. I put my shirt back on quickly and sat on the floor. I'm so weak.

"Nelly? Nelly, are you in here?" a voice called.
