Why is it always hard to be yourself? Maybe its because we try to fit in with the crowd. I rather stand out. I dont dress like Beyonce, or India Westbrooks. I am not famous. I dont wanna be like you. Do you seriously want to be the same as someone you aren't? Here are some steps that will probably help.
1) Don't copy.
I hate seeing people walk around in some too tight shorts when they dont have the body for it. Just because you see someone else wear them does not mean you can. If you want a look like them, try to find jeans that matches the color or a shirt that looks like it. Add your own style to it. If you wanna do the same things as them, try but do it with your own flavor. If its a dance move like Wobble, do your own thing. Instead of jumping, do criss cross. Take it from personal experience, I do my own thing and people copy me. I really dont care because if you watch me and someone who is trying to do it, you will see you are doing it like you want and who knows they might do their own thing.
2) Stand out
If everyone is wearing pink at school and look like Pepto Bismal, wear blue or yellow. You dont have to look like them. If they say something to you about it just say: "I am not you. I do my own thing. Good luck being a follower!" But if its for something to support something like Brest Cancer Awarness, you can wear pink but dont over do it. Like at my school, every friday is "Batman Day" or "Tie Day (For band)" I dont do either. Even though i can do the Tie day, i dont. I guess its suppose to make band stand out. I dont know or care. If a lot of people are wearing dull colors because its a dull day, brighten it up by wearing bright colors. Dont blend in.
3) Uniqueness
I am not gonna say this any more. Dont try to be with the in crowd. They dont allow a lot of people in. If you stand out, people are going to notice and start standing out. Make a statement. My school wont let us dye our hair random colors. "Only Natrual Colors". But they dont get on to the girls that have red streaks. Like her hair is fire truck red. But i cant have white? Seriously! So i just wear what i like. I might mix and match the colors. Blue and green, Purple and red, Orange and brown, Purple and brown, Blue and white, and Peach and blue and red. I started to wear those colors and now where ever i look, i see girls and guys wear them. Why cant you?!
