Caleb's POV

Beautiful. That's what she is. Drop dead beautiful. When she ran into the camp with Jay, a junior protecter, my heart skipped a beat. The way her black hair flowed over her shoulder and her bright green eyes shone just made me fall for her. Hard. And it didn't look like I would be getting up any time soon. "Hi, I'm Caleb" I said. She smiled and it seemed to light up the camp. I looked over her shoulder to see the Minotaur still trying to get into camp. "We need to take care of that, before Chiron sees it," Jay says, breathing heavily. "I got this," I say, pulling out my Celestial Bronze sword. "Are you sure? I can just get Percy." Jay tells me. "Don't bother him. He's probably with Annabeth." I respond. "Who's Percy? And who is Annabeth?" she asks. "You will meet Percy soon and Annabeth is my half sister," I tell her. Heading towards the barrier, I hear her ask Jay what I'm doing. "Trying to impress you by killing it with his Celestial Bronze sword," Jay told her. I broke through the barrier, getting its attention. It charged as I tried to come up with a plan. The second before it hit me, I jumped to the side. That just made it madder. I kept dodging and ducking, but it was getting a lot harder. I had just run out of ideas, when the girl yelled from the left of me, "Hey ugly!" She pulled a bow and quiver out of her backpack that I hadn't noticed before. How a bow and quiver both fit in that bag, I didn't know. I was about to warn her that mortal weapons wouldn't harm it, but when she shot the monster, the arrow stuck in the horn. She shot again and I stared, speechless. The second arrow went through the first, cutting off the horn. The Minotaur fell to the ground as it disintegrated, leaving just a broken horn. The adrenaline in her must have passed, because she fell to her knees. Before she could fall on her face, I rushed forward and picked her up, pulling her back into safety. Her bow and quiver had disappeared, probably into that strange backpack of hers. I adjusted her in my arms so I was carrying her like you would carry a sleeping child. Just before she passed out in my arms, she whispered, "I'm Kay."
