Kay's POV
Today has been an amazing day! I made a mentally unstable friend, beat Caleb at sword fighting and got to go swimming! I should probably explain my new friend. It all started when I woke up this morning.
Flashback
I opened my eyes for the surprise of a lifetime. A girl with short, light brown hair and beautiful brown eyes is leaning over me, our faces almost touching. I don't even flinch, because I'm not awake enough to care. She is smiling from ear to ear and looks like she has some serious mental issue. "Hi!!!! Are you awake?!?!" she yells at me. "I am now. Who are you?" I respond, sitting up as she backs away from my face. "Kaitlyn Montgomery Brkaric!! Call me Katie and I will murder you in your sleep!" she continues to yell. "Are you mentally unstable?" I inquire. I know it sounds rude, but I'm curious. "Maybe..." is the answer I get.
End of flashback
We continued to talk and I found out that she is a daughter of Apollo, but, luckily, she doesn't write poems like the rest of her family. She does write songs, but they aren't half bad. She showed me one called I'm Stuck Here and it was a LOT better than the poetry that her cabin is obsessed with. She has been at camp for about 5 years and loves getting to freak out the newer campers. Apparently, I'm the only person who didn't scream or attack her when they wake up to see her right above them. Everyone thinks she has mental issues, but she just has REALLY bad ADHD. She decided we should be best friends, because, I believe her exact words were, "I'm crazy. I heard your crazy. We should be crazy together!" Beating Caleb was a piece of cake. He was pretty good, but he lacks real experience. I have battled tons of monsters, so I know how to win. I wasn't planning on kicking someone's rear end in the arena, but he showed up and I wanted to see how he fights. I needed to know his chances of surviving in a real battle. He will do a great job, unless he sees someone in serious danger. It's obvious in his fighting that he has the same fatal flaw as Percy. If he sees someone injured, he will forget what he's doing and try to save them. It's not the worst flaw, but it could easily get him killed. After I spared and cleaned up all of the dummies I had destroyed, I decided to go for a swim in the lake. I spent about 5 hours without resurfacing. I got lost in thought and before I knew it, Percy came down to tell me that dinner had started. Campfire was pretty uneventful and I almost fell asleep from being awake for so long. I headed straight to my cabin and was looking forward to sleeping. Sadly, I didn't sleep long. I woke up about 2 hours later and was to afraid to go back to sleep. These nightmares might kill me before the battle does.

I hope you enjoyed my mentally unstable friend, Kaitlyn. I wouldn't be writing this without her. She is the best sister in the world, even though we don't have the same parents. She has been there with me throughout my life and we are always crazy together. You're the best sis EVER!!!! -HTK
