Caleb's POV

These nightmares are going to be the end of me. But this time it was just the room of waterfalls. I jumped, curious of what lay at the bottom, but it seemed as though there was no bottom. I fell for about 10 minutes, I think. I hit the bottom, but luckily it didn't hurt. I stood up and took a look around. I saw hundreds of monsters walking around, without a care in the world. I woke up right when I realized where I was. I sat straight up, hitting my head and screaming in terror. Everyone around me started freaking out and worrying about me. I didn't like being the center of attention, so I ran out of the cabin, only to run straight into Kay. "Oof!" Kay says as she falls to the ground. "I'm so sorry!" I exclaim, helping her get up. "It's fine. I heard you screaming. Are you all right?" she asks, her voice full of concern. "Nightmare," is all I can say. She doesn't say anymore, but starts walking to the beach, so I follow her. Once we arrive, she sits and pats the ground next to her. I sit down as she asks, "What happened?" "I was in a room full of waterfalls. I jumped and when I hit the ground..." I trail off, not wanting to say it. She nods and finishes for me, "You were in Tartarus." I sit there in shock, not doing anything. How did she know? As if she's reading my mind, she continues, "I have that dream every night." "I'm so sorry. I really am. That must suck." She opens her mouth to continue when the horn signaling breakfast sounds. "Well, let's go. I'm starving," Kay says as she rises to her feet. We walk together, but we don't say a word. We go our separate ways and even though I can see her, I start to miss her. I wish I knew how she feels about me. At the same time, I'm afraid to find out. As Kay heads over to burn her offering, Rachel, our oracle, stands up. "Rachel, what are you doing?" Chiron asks. She just walks over to Kay, whispers something in her ear, then goes back to her seat. I can tell Chiron looks worried, but he doesn't say anything else. After breakfast, I make my way over to Kay. "What was that all about?" I inquire as I reach her. "I don't really know. She just told me to go to her cave after I eat," she responds. "Well, good luck," I tell her. She just smiles, before heading over to Rachel's cave. I really hope everything is all right. The rest of the day flys by, but I don't see Kay again until campfire. She walks over to Chiron and whispers something to him. He nods and she faces us. "I will be going on a quest," she announces. She looks at me as she continues, "and I need 2 companions. Caleb, will you-" "Yes," I cut her off. She smiles and looks at the Hephaestus cabin and asks Alexis's boyfriend, Chris. Chris accepts immediately with knowing that his biggest fear isn't happening, Alexis won't be the one in danger. Kay made her way over to me as campfire ends. "Thank you so much. I don't know what I would do if you declined," she says the moment she reached me. "What was the prophecy? And where are we going?" I ask, eager to know more, but nervous at the same time. "We are going to Alaska. There wasn't a prophecy, Rachel just told me that there is a school of half-bloods there that need to be brought to camp," she explains as Chris walks over. "Alright," Chris answers. We go over a few more details and head to our cabins to get some sleep. As I start over to my cabin, Kay says to me, "I'm really grateful that you are doing this. Thank you." "No problem. I'm glad you choose me," I respond as we reach the Athena cabin. "Goodnight," she says, walking away. I go inside to get ready to finally leave the camp on a quest.
