Alina's pov
I sat on the stairs of my house waiting for Dad to pull in the driveway.
It's been a week since I've last seen him.
That's is the longest we've ever been apart.
I know he has to work, but I really miss him.I sat for a couple more minutes when David came over and sat beside me.
"Still waiting on Aaron?" He asked.
I nodded.
"Yeah, sometimes Mom is gone for a while too. And even when she's home she's so busy that she barely has time for me and Dawn." He said.
I looked at the ground.
"But hey, at least you have your Mom. My Dad is always watching after Dawn. He never really asks about me. But, I get it. She's his little girl, and I'm just his son." David sighed.
I took a deep breath.
"Dad has always been here for me and he still tries. I just miss him sometimes." I said.
Just as David started to say something I saw Dad's car come into view.
I smiled and stood up.
I waved.
Dad pulled in and got out of his car.
I ran up to him and hugged him.
"I've missed you so much." I said.
Dad hugged back.
"I've missed you too sweetie. But, it's only been a week." He said.
"Yeah. The longest week of my life!" I said.
He laughed and looked at David.
"Hey Dave. How are you?" Dad asked.
David shrugged.
"Good. I guess." He said. The next day was better than usual.
David and Callie were still arguing about the color thing. Dawn and Tyler kept talking about the dance. And something happened that I never thought would ever happen to me.
Micah walked up to me with flowers. At first, I thought he was just going to tell me that he was going to ask some lucky girl to the dance when....
"Alina will you go to the fall dance with me?" He asked.
I blushed.
"M-me?" I asked.
He laughed.
"Yes you." He said.
I giggled.
"Uh. Um. Yes!" I said excitedly. He smiled. I wonder if this means? No. We are just two people going to a dance together. Yeah that's what we are.Aaron's pov
I didn't have to work today so I decided to go to the Maid Cafe. Aphmau was decorating a cake and venting about how rude one of the costumers had been the other day.
Gene kept burning cupcakes and Kawaii~Chan yelled at him.
Zane spelled anniversary wrong on a cake and Aphmau dropped a bowl of flour.
I tried not to laugh at all of it, but the flour set me off.
Of course, Aphmau got mad at me, but she got over.Alina's pov
"I can't believe your going to the dance with Micah! You two are perfect for each other." Dawn said.
Laney sat in the corner quietly.
"Yeah. Whatever you say, Dawn." I said.
She rolled her eyes.
"You're trying to make this seem like it's no big deal." Dawn said.
"Well it's not." I said.
She laughed.
I glared at her.
"Well when are you going to tell your mom and dad your going to the dance with a boy!" I shrugged.
"Simple. I'm not telling them." I said.
Dawn laughed.
"Real funny. Alina Lycan not telling her parents about something like this. I'm pretty sure Aaron and Aphmau have never kept a secret from your grandparents. So maybe it skipped a generation?" Dawn said.
I rolled my eyes.
"I'm pretty sure they have and it doesn't hurt to have a few secrets." I said.
"Whatever you say, Alina." Dawn said.
