Alina's pov
I can't get what Dalia said out of my mind. It just feels weird to think of dad thinking like that.
Sure, I'm almost an adult. At least he didn't start being gone a lot when I was a kid. Unlike Dalia, he doesn't think work is more important than his family. At least I hope he doesn't.
"Alina? Are you okay?" David asked.
I quickly looked up.
"Yeah. I'm good. I'm just waiting for your freaking sister to wake up." I said.
He poured me some coffee and put the cup in front of me.
Mom doesn't usaully let me have coffee. Something about brain development and crap. Dad thinks it's ridiculous because I'm sixteen and mom won't let me have it. Which I would have to agree with. Luckily, Gene is normal and let's me have coffee.
"You know she won't be up for another two hours. Imagine how hard it is to wake her up everyday for school." He said.
I smiled.I decided to head home and see if Dad was there. It would be great to eat breakfast with him while Dawn is sleeping.
I walked over to my house when I heard a voice all to familiar.
"Yoooooo! Lina!"
It had to be Dakota. Ugh!
"My name is Alina. Uh-Lina." I said.
He laughed.
"And my name is DA-kota!"
I frowned.
I don't know why I deal with him. I know he's friends with Tyler meaning he is automatically friends with Dawn and David.
"Anyway UH-lina. I was wondering about that dance this weekend. I heard you dropped Micah like he was hot and are available."
I sighed.
The nerve of....
Dakota interrupted my thought "Come on, I'm like the fifth strongest werewolf and I'm a awesome jock. I'm the total package. But, I understand if you would prefer to pass up on a opportunity like this." He said with a confident smile.
I cannot stand him.
I need a excuse to break off from this conversation.
"Sorry, Dakota, I just don't think I'm your type." I said nicely.
He laughed again.
"To bad, I really would have enjoyed your company. Anyway I promised Tyler I would shoot some hoops with him this morning before he gets ready to go out with Dawn. See ya!"
Finally, he's gone! But, what he said about Tyler and Dawn really hit me. She promised me we would have a girls day. A Alina, Dawn, day.
I need to talk to her.
But not now, I want to see dad.
I started up the driveway when I saw a familiar vehicle start to pull-in. Granddad.
He got out of the car with a laptop. He looks horrible. I haven't seen him in sweatpants and a t-shirt since he got the flu about five years ago.
"Hey gramps!" Is said.
He looked up at me.
"Where's your dad?" He asked in a sickly voice.
I gestured toward my house.
"I think he's inside. Are you feeling alright?" I asked.
He just nodded and started to walk into the house.
Huh.
He's also sweaty. He can't be okay.
I called out for dad and he came down stairs.
He saw Gramps and his face grew worried.
"Dad, are you alright?" He asked walking over. Gramps ignored him and started to say random business things. He finally answered.
"I'm fine. I just need you to take over a few things." He said.
Dad seemed worried.
"Dad you look horrible. Sit down. I'm calling mom to take you to the doctor. Or I can take you if you want." Dad said.
I stood in the corner in silence.
Dad grabbed his phone and Gramps stopped him.
"Don't worry your mother. I am fine. I'm old, Aaron, sometimes I get tired. I try not to get this way at all possible. I just got unlucky this time." Gramps said.
Dad sighed.
"Fine, but you are not leaving this house. Sit down and I'm gonna get you a blanket and something to eat." Dad said.
Gramps stopped him again.
"Aaron I'm fine. But if you insist I will stay here, but there is work to be done! I can take care of myself." He said.
Dad looked at Gramps and then at me.
"Alina can help you out." He said.
Crap, I can't just say no to taking care of my grandfather who is obviously sick. But I can't just cancel my plans with Dawn.
I looked at Dad and Gramps.
Dawn probably won't mind considering she has plans with Tyler she didn't tell me about. I guess I'm taking care of gramps for a day.(I know I freaking suck for not updating and I'm sorry. School has just put me really behind. I'll try to update at least once every two weeks.)
