Alina's pov
Dawn, Laney, and I are all laying on my bed looking at the online choice sheet.
Choosing classes is hard! Especially now that Laney is a freshman. Dawn and I are both sophomores this year which is awesome! Dawn keeps going on about how she wants a class with Tyler, but he's a junior. I keep reminding her that classes are mixed.
In the end I ended up picking
art class, volleyball,Guitar practice,
and cooking class as my electives.
All the rest are picked for me to make sure I'm successful or something like that.
Laney of course has to take witchery 101. Dawn is an artist so she's taking art and poetry classes. Also drama class. But she's also in Tennis. She loves tennis. It's her and David's game. I envy her. She is such an amazing artist. She can draw or paint anything she wants. I have to stick with the anime or the chibi style when it comes to people. I can't shade for the life of me.
*ding*
Dawn pulled out her phone and squealed. Then she cleared her throat.
"Tyler asked me out to dinner tonight, so I need to get ready." She said.
Then my dad ran in with a baseball bat.
"I heard someone scream!" He said.
We gave him a weird look.
"Aaron, babe, It was a squeal! Just more highpitch than normal. So either their ship sailed or they were asked on a date!" My mom yelled from downstairs.
"Okay! Anyway girls don't do that again. I only have two minutes before I have to get to work and I'm not even ready." He said before practically running out of the room.
"Wow Aaron's on edge today." Dawn said.
"Yeah. He's been really stressed lately. I don't know why, but he'll get over it. Anyway let's head over to Dawn's house." I said.
We all left the house and walked across the street to Dawn's place.
We opened the door and went upstairs.
Her house is always so clean. I know Dalia is a bit of a clean freak, but this is crazy. Plus she runs a business? How does she keep the house so clean?
Then we ran into someone.
"Hey Mary. How has you day been?" Dawn asked.
"Good. Anyway I need to get back to cleaning." She said.
They hired a maid? She is really old to still be working.
We all went into Dawn's room and Laney and I sat on the bed.
"Okay what would Tyler like? Green tank with shorts or pretty shirt with jeans?" Dawn asked.
"I like the tank, but you need to wear it with jeans. Don't show off too much." Laney said.
"Your right." Dawn said.
She went into the bathroom to change.
She came out with a green tank with jeans and brown boots.
"Love it." I said.
"Guys I'm home!" Gene yelled from downstairs.
After a few minutes we went downstairs and saw Gene in his normal clothes sitting on the couch.
"Hey kiddo. Where's David?" He asked Dawn.
"He's with Luke." She said.
"Cool. Where are you girls going?" He asked.
"To the mall." I said.
"Speaking of the mall. Who is that werewolf guy?" He asked Dawn.
"Just a friend of David's." Dawn said.
I pulled out my phone and texted David.Me: If your dad asks, Tyler is your friend.
David: okay.
Just making sure the lie works.
Aaron's pov
Dad just dropped off a bunch of stuff I have to sign.
My life! Aphmau called earlier from Zane's phone, and said she was going to close the cafe early today, so she could get some work done around the house.
For the past five years I've been drowning in paperwork, meetings, and everything that comes with this business, but Dad has been on my case a lot more lately. I don't get it. Is nothing I do good enough for him.
Melissa said she wanted me to help her out with the new reality show about these people and their strange obsessions. I declined. I only help with live stuff. Like competitions or awards.
I need to take a break.
I decided to look at some pictures that I have in my desk.
I pulled the rubberband off them.
The pic of me, Aphmau, and baby Alina. Aphmau and I at our wedding. Slyvanna and Aphmau with baby Alina. Slyvanna and Aphmau. Eric, Slyvanna, Katelyn, and Aphmau. Melissa and I at her birthday party. Laurance and I at the national cooking championship. Gene and I volunteering at the pet center. Ten year old Alina and I. The latest picture I have is a pic of Alina and I after she won the vollyball state championship nine months ago. Garroth and I painting the picket fence surrounding my backyard. There are so many more.
Then my dad walked in.
"Aaron are you finished?"
I quickly put the rubberband back around the pics and put them up.
"Almost." I said.
"Get to it. We need those signed by the next hour. I have never been late doing anything. I expect the same from you." He said.
"Yes sir."
I picked up my pen and continued to sign the papers. Sometimes I wish my dad would understand that I'm not him.Aphmau's pov
I finally got home and opened the door.
I accidentally left my phone at home, so I hope nothing happened while I was away from it.
I closed the shop early so I could get some things done around the house. Everything seems clean, so I'm probably going to focus on the yard.
I found my phone on the kitchen counter.
Two voicemails.
I went into the messages and saw one from some telemarketer that I automatically deleted. The second was from Aaron.
"Hey babe. Uhhh. So I was thinking we could, you know, go out tonight. Today. *Sigh*. Today was kinda stressful and I just need some time to just forget about things. You know. So yeah. Anyway talk to you later."
I sighed. I know that tone. He's had a hard day. I guess I better start working on the yard so I can finish before getting ready for dinner.
