The Alpha's Mate

Chapter 6-Taylor

Before the letter arrived to Alex.

Running, running as far as I can.  

Rogues. 

They found me.  I thought that I stayed hidden pretty well.  I cannot believe that they actually found my secret place.

My secret place was deep in the woods.  A waterfall comes over a cliff and into a river.  The water was so blue and clear that you can see the bottom.  It was the most beautiful place I have ever seen.  This place is like an old memory.  A place from a dream.  I just cannot put my finger on it.

Back to the rogues.

All I remember is sitting near the water in my wolf form when I heard something.  I sniffed the air, and it was not pleasent.  A brown wolf that looked like it just came from a war came out into the clearing.  He was growling like there is no tomorrow.  Two more came out.  One was brown also, but he looked more redish.  The last one was a pure black one, but he still looked just as bad as the others.  I am guessing he is the alpha considering he is the only black one.

"Well, well, well.  Look what we got here.  The alpha's daughter.  This must be my lucky day," he mind linked.  I growl at them making sure they know that I will fight if I have to.  The black wolf charged after me, but I managed to get out the way.  I took off into the woods, but I knew that they were right on my tail.  

I ran as fast as I could.  Being the alpha's daughter definitely helped.  I knew though that I would not be able to out run the alpha.  He caught up to me and bit my leg.  I wolf whimpered, but I kept running.  I managed to make it to the guards.

The guards are the ones that look out for rogues and makes sure that they stay away.  

The guards ran past me and attacked the rogues.  The rogues eventually surrendered and ran back into the woods.  The guards ran to me to make sure I was okay.  I insurred them that I am fine and then went back to the pack house.  My father is going to be mad, but I have to tell him about the rogues.

When I got inside, my father did my look too pleased.

"WHERE ON EARTH HAVE YOU BEEN?"

"I'm sorry dad.  I was just getting some fresh air.  They came out of no where.  I think they are getting stronger.  They where definitely bigger than they should be."

"They past my territory?  They are also getting more dumb.  We can take them."

At that moment we heard a scream.  I have never heard a scream like that.  We ran outside and found a pack of rogues killing one of our guards.  When the alpha of the pack saw my dad he shifted.  He is a pretty good looking man, but he looked like he has been through a lot.

"Well hello there mighty alpha," he said with a sarcastic tone.  He bowed then laughed.  "This is just the beggining.  Consider yourself warned."

He shifted back into his pure black wolf then ran off with the rest.  If looks could kill, my father would have killed every single one of them.  He looked more pissed than the time he caught me sneaking out with a boy.  Yes, I used to do that.

"Meeting, NOW," my father mind linked everyone. In about 5 minutes everyone was in the pack house.

"We all just saw what happened.  Time to call in reinforcements.  I will call in the top packs to come and join us.  Any objections or questions, speak now."

No one dared to object.  It was either go with it or leave.  My brother came up to my father.

"Are we not able to take them ourselves?  Not that I am objecting, but we are the strongest pack in the U.S."

"Yes we are, but we cannot take any chances.  We need everyone.  We need a look out everywhere.  We could have lost Taylor today.  I am not risking losing anyone.  If we are able to get more help than that is what I am going to do.  They are getting stronger like Taylor said."

After a few more minutes the meeting ended.  My father went straight to writing a letter to every top pack.  I read the note and saw the Red Moon Pack.  For some reason my wolf started jumping at that name.  She has definitely been acting weird lately.  

"You okay there?"

"Yeah I'm fine," then she left.  Hmmmm.............I will forever wonder.
