Chapter 1: mates

Jaylin p.o.v

"Uncle kaden!"

I yell as I jump down the steps. Kaden gladly gives me a hug. Kaden isn't my real uncle but him and luke, my father, are close friends.

"Jay!"

He shouts as he chuckles. He sets me on the ground from our hug and I turn to aunt raven.

"Raven where is my hug?"

I ask her and she smiles and gives me a hug.

"JAYLIN MARIE MOORE! YOU ARE IN SOOOO MUCH TROUBLE!!"

My mother, January, yells from the tops of the steps. She is the beta female and my adopter.

I have the jeans of an alpha and a beta. No one knows who my parents are but most believe I'm a mix of the loyalty and Intelligence packs.

"Crap! Kaden hide me!"

I whisper yell to him and he takes a step back. I turn around to see mom in a blue bathrobe with wet hair.

"Yes my ever so kind, generous, loving, thoughtful, and hopefully forgiving mother?"

I ask her in the sweetest voice I could muster.

"Get your butt down to the basement and turn the hot water back on now!"

She orders and I gulp in fear. I quickly nod and scurry off to the basement. I turn the hot water back on and get out of their as fast as possible.

I walk back outside when I'm tackled by a little brown ball of energy.

"JAYLIN!"

The one and only Alaska yells in my face. I laugh as she climbs off me.

"Laska what is it?"

I ask her and she smiles.

"Alpha Kaden and beta luke want us for something. I don't know what though."

She says and I nod. We walk back to the pack house laughing about random things.

"Father! I am your daughter."

I speak as I enter Kaden's office. Kaden chuckles and shakes his head while my father face palms. Alaska follows me in and we chill on the couch.

"How old are you jay?"

Kaden asks me as he dosent look up from his paper.

"Level 24, why?"

I ask and he smiles as he looks up from his paper.

"Both of you are going to look for your mates."

Luke says and I gasp. Alaska is practically jumping out of her skin in excitement. I on the other hand am stunned.

"M-mate."

I whisper and they nod.

'Mate, I like the sound of that. Just imagine what he'll be like! I hope he's sweet, gentle, kind, loving, and thoughtful.'

My wolf, Spark, tells herself.

"I want this for you. You haven't found your mate and you need to find him. That or else I'll be marrying you off to someone."

Luke says and I nod.

"Do you agree jay?"

Kaden asks me and I look up at him.

"I don't know."

I tell him and he sighs.

"Alaska?"

He asks my best friend and she nods.

"Of course! I'll go pack my bags!"

She yells as she runs out of the room. She slams the door and both eyes turn to me.

"Mates are the best thing to ever happen to you Jaylin. They love you and make you feel wanted. They are the other half to your soul, there the thing you feel is missing. They change you for the better and they don't hold you back."

Kaden says as he puts his pen down to look me in the eyes.

"I want you to feel something for someone. I want you to feel the same way I do your raven. Their is someone out their that will love, cherish, and adore you."

He continues to say. Luke leaves the room to give us some privacy.

"I want to learn more before I make my final choice."

I tell him and he nods. He sits down next to me on the couch.

"Ask me anything."

He says and I take a deep breath.

"Did it hurt? When raven marked you?"

I ask him and he smiles as he touches his mark.

"Well not really. All I felt was a warm sensation on my neck along with sparks. I felt as if a wall had been broken between us."

He tells me and I nod.

"What do you do when you meet your mate?"

I ask him and he nods.

"Well when you look into their eyes it will be like you two are the only two in the world. His scent will be the most addicting thing you ever smell. You will both want to have skin contact with one another. You will also never want to leave him."

Kaden speaks and I sigh.

"How do they shape you for the better?"

I ask him and he nods yet again.

"Well as the mate bond grows so will your feeling towards one another. You will want to please him more and he will want to please you more."

He tells me and I look down at my thubs.

"I think I'll go look for my mate."

I tell him and he smiles.

"That is every good to hear. I'll be emailing alpha Altaïr to tell him of our coming. We will also be bringing Jonah Maxwell, Isabella Taylor, and knoll Bellbrook."

Kaden tells me and I nod. I already know how this goes. As a beta's daughter I get to ride with kaden and luke. I can choose one person to ride with me. And as I hate pretty much everyone I always choose Alaska.

I leave the room and go to my room to pack my suit case. Once I'm finished packing I check my phone to see that it's 10:00 PM.

I sigh and take my shower. The whole time I'm in their I can't help but think about my mate.

Will he be nice?
Loving?
Caring?
Thoughtful?
Gentle?

Only time will tell.
