It was around 4 when the firefighters finally came to our "rescue", the little girl screamed in glee as she watched them come save people from the ride. I gave her a smile, reassuring her that I told her so, that everyone was going to turn out just fine. But the moment was short lived when all of a sudden a cord that hung the ride up snapped, the side that the firefighters were on dropped as the middle and other half were being supported by 3 more cords. Screams ran around the ride as the firefighters picked up their pace. The little girl was starting to cry now, I sang a tune to her to try to get her to calm down but nothing was working. She was screaming over and over again that she was scared, that she didn't want to die, that she wanted her mommy. I kept telling her she would see her mommy that everything was going to be ok.

Down below I looked to see everyone, there was a huge crowd below watching us as we were being saved from the ride. A creaking began as the firefighters saved another handful of people from their chairs before another cord snapped. People around us were growing frantic, I could hear screams below as they watched in horror. The firefighters were doing the best that they could and I understood that, but they needed to hurry up, we were down to 2 cords now. I looked up onto the heavens, I am a very religious girl, but I don't judge people for the actions unlike certain Christians. As I heard the people around us cry and scream I turned to the girl and decided to try to calm her down, as well as to calm me from freaking out like everyone else.

"What's your name lovely, I never gotten a chance to ask you? I also wanted to know if you believed in the man right up stairs?" She looked at me as she sniffled her nose. I unchained the little cross I had around my neck, I handed it to her to have her try to hold onto it or at least attempt to wrap it around her neck. She clung on tight to the necklace in one hand and her other hand intertwining our hands together."My names Raylee, my mommy always talks about the man up stairs, we pray to him a lot everyday and every night. He's helped my mommy in a lot of situations and he gives me all of my Christmas presents and birthday presents.." Another tear escaped from her eye as she talked about "The Man Upstairs", another cord snapped as I was about to open my mouth again. By now the firefighters had to save Two other passengers, Raylee and I, having to adjust their crane in a different direction to get to us. I could hear more screaming and frantic cries from underneath us, I looked up as the sky shined up above us.

"Raylee, I need you to help me pray to the man upstairs or at least try to... Do you think you can do that for me? Do you think you can pray a huge prayer with me out loud?" Raylee gave a small whimper at this as she attempted to speak along with me as I prayed. "Dear Father, Raylee and I are coming forth upon you to request that you save us from this occurring tragedy. I know that this isn't our time to depart from the world and I hope that you give us both strength in these final moments before this next cord snaps. Please keep the two of us safe, preventing from anything happening to us. In Your sons name, the spirit, Amen" I trailed off as Raylee gave a soft Amen as well. By now the other two passengers had gotten off the ride as well and the firefighters were making their way up again. I unbuckled my seat belt and Raylee's as they firefighters got closer and closer to us. I gave her a small cheer telling her that I knew we were going to be just fine that our prayer worked.

A sick creaking noise came from the ride as I slowly stood up on the chair, a pain inside of me told me to sit down, that the firefighters had this all covered. The creaking was getting worse as I stood up and my fear was that the ride wouldn't drop below us, that we were going to be ok. I looked at the firefighters in front of me as I gave them a reassuring smile but I didn't receive one back. The gentlemen in front of me who I assumed was the captain had taken off his hat and tucked it underneath his armpit. "I'm sorry to say this, but there's no possible way for us to get to you, already your weight is making the creaking, if we add one of our men to the ride it's just going to make us lose another life than the two we already have. The only way we can safely reach you is if you jump" He gave a sad expression as his men gathered out their arms in front of us to grab onto.

I looked at Raylee, her eyes were squinting shut now, so I gripped onto her hand harder. I mean I wasn't going to lose my life now, and neither was she. I nodded my head towards the firemen letting them know I was going to jump and grab onto their hands. I yelled at Raylee letting her know to get ready and to not let go of the necklace, I didn't want her to open her eyes either, causing more panic to run through her. I prayed once more and took a step before springing off the ride, my world had turned into slow motion sort of, I was flying midair as I was reaching towards the firemen's arms. I could feel 2 hands grip onto me as grabbed onto one of theirs. I screamed at them to grab onto Raylee first, raising my arm up as they pulled her up safely with everyone else.

I could hear the last cord snap, as I watched the ride plummet down onto the concrete surface, hearing a boom and a sickening crash of metal onto the cold floor. I got lifted up to where everyone else was, I could feel Raylee grabbing onto my leg as we got lowered down onto the floor. I could hear cheers as we lowered down onto the floor. People were scrambling to get to their loved ones but I was trying to help Raylee find her mother in between the mess. She pointed towards a tall women with brunette hair cut into a bob around her shoulders, she had been crying for a while now. Raylee had screamed out to her mommy, giving her a frantic turn seeing her child before running towards her and caressing the young girl. A smile paved over my face seeing the two getting reunited once more after this horrific incident.

The mother was sobbing now, calling me Raylee's guardian angel, I blushed at the sudden recognition as Raylee gave me a tight hug before attempting to give me back my necklace. I got down onto my knees and told her to keep it, moving her hair to place the necklace. Giving her a tight hug I reassured her and told her that the man upstairs would always keep her safe, to believe in him as she should with anything. The mother and daughter walked away from the event, Raylee turning around giving me a small wave as I waved back to her. A wave of pain went through my head, not again I thought to myself. Why out of all the moments did this have to happen now, I groaned as I caressed my head as I steadied myself for a moment from falling over onto the floor. All of a sudden someone came up behind me a gave me a tight hug, panicking as they were screaming in my ear. I turned around and saw Nora with the gang running behind her, pulling me into a tight hug. By now people were trying to get me to speak in a interview about what had just happened and how I became a hero.

I looked around and saw Hayes pacing back and forth, with his hands on his head, I pulled away from everyone and walked over towards him. The man broke down in tears in front of me as he saw me giving me a tight hug, apologizing repeatedly for forcing me onto the ride. I'm not sure what came over me but I started sobbing into Hayes shoulder as well telling him it was alright but to just hold me. My world was spinning and I felt another wave come over and attack me once more. Hayes had picked me up bridal style and decided to call an end to this day as firefighters came and cleaned up the damage. I was exhausted and just wanted to sleep and cry to be honest. I was so glad this was over this but never again do I ever want to deal with something like this for a while..
