Chapter 16 - Scared

Joey's P.O.V

I jolt awake! The baby! I put some pants on and run to the nursery! I pick up Nadia and shush her. I kiss her forehead and walk downstairs and make her a bottle. I put one scoop of formula in the bottle. I shake it holding the top of the nipple so it wouldn't go everywhere. I put it in the microwave for 10 seconds. When I pull it out its warm. I go and sit on the couch and feed her. I started to hum collarful by panic at the disco.

Shane's P.O.V

I woke up to the sound of the microwave. I look at my right. Joey isn't there. I sit up and climb out of bed. I walk downstairs and then stop at the very last step. I hear Joey humming. I look around the corner and I see joey sitting on the couch holding Nadia. He is feeding her. He looked beautiful! I stared at them smiling for five minutes. I finally decide to walk towards joey. When I reach the living room Joey looks up and smiles.

Joey: Im sorry did I wake you up?

Me: Yea but its ok.

Joey: Oh ok.

Me: You look sexy!

Joey looks me up and down.

Joey: So do you haha!

I look at myself. Great. I only had on boxers. I laugh and sit beside Joey.

Me: What time is it?

Joey: Its like 3 am.

I moan. The bottle soon got empty so Joey let me burp her. I started patting her on the back. Then she farted. I laughed so hard but not loudly. Joey was over their waving his hand in front of his nose with a disgusted look on his face. That made me laugh even harder!

Joey's P.O.V

When shane finished burping Nadia we took her to her room and put her in the crib. She fell asleep. Me and shane were tired so we went back to bed.

I woke up and shane was not there! I go to the nursery and I don't see Nadia! I start hyperventilating. I run downstairs calling for shane. When I get down there I stop. Shane was standing in the kitchen preparing a diaper bag. when he looked up and saw me crying he ran to me and hugged me. When he lets go he searches my body.

Shane: Joey what happened? are you ok? Are you hurt?

Me: No I'm not hurt and I got scared because I couldn't find you or Nadia.

Tears are streaming down my face.

Me: I thought something happened to you!

Nadia started to cry so I picked her up out of the car seat. I kissed her cheek and hugged her.

Shane: I'm sorry Joey.

I get angry!

Me: WHAT THE HELL WHERE YOU THINKING!

Shane: I'm sorry!! Shelby called and wanted Nadia to come over. I tried to wake you but you were out cold. you looked exhausted so I wrote you a note and left it on the bed side table.

Me: Well I never saw the note I just freaked out!!

Shane: I'm so sorry Joey! I love you! I would never try to hurt you!

Me: I thought something happened to both of you.

Shane's P.O.V

I hadn't realized I scared Joey that badly. I really hurt him. I go to him and kiss him.

Me: I'm so sorry!

Joey:  its ok. anyway we were going to Shelby's?

He walks out the door and I grab the car seat and diaper bag. We get in the car and start down the road. We talk about random stuff and what we might do when we get to Shelby's. Nadia starts to cry so I lean over the front seat and look back at her. I try to find her pacifier but it was behind Joey's seat.

Me: hey Joey can you get that pacifier for me?

Joey: yea hold on.

Joey grabs the steering wheel with one hand and still looking at the road reaches for the pacifier. for one second he looks away from the road. I barely saw it coming. it was too fast. I hear a scream. then a baby crying. I smell smoke. I hear someone yell my name but I'm too far gone. I go unconscious.
