Chapter 17 - All your fault

Joey's P.O.V

I wake up. I have a major headache. I'm dizzy. I smell smoke. I look at the passenger seat. Shane is their but he's not conscious. I look in the back seat. I see Nadia with her mouth open. it looks like she is crying but I can't hear anything but a ringing noise. someone waves their hand infront of my face I look to my right. I see a man standing their he's trying to open the door. he's screaming at me. he pulls out his phone and calls someone. my heart is beating fast. what can I do? Shane is over their bleeding out and Nadia what's gonna happen to my daughter! the dizziness gets worse as I see someone pull Shane out of the car. splotches of darkness cloud my vision. I go out again.

when I wake up I'm surrounded by people. their whispering. I focus and I see Shelby and my sister Nicole and Cassandra! A doctor comes in the room.

Doctor: oh good your awake.

Me: where is Shane and Nadia!!

everyone stared at the ground.

Doctor: can you three step outside for a few minutes.

they all walk out and I panic.

Doctor: their are some good and bad news. the good news is Nadia is safe thanks to her car seat. The mother is taking good care of her.

Me: thank God!!

Doctor: the bad news is Shane yaw your friend-

Me: boyfriend.

Doctor: Sorry, boyfriend has been in a coma and possibly wont make it.

I couldn't. I can't go on. Shane is my reason for living. I just ...

Doctor: Hey its ok. Just calm down. Everything will be ok.

Me: No! everything will not be ok!

what am I going to do? I...I...don't know...

Me: I need to talk to Shelby.

the doctor nods and walks out of the room. soon after Shelby walks in.

Me: I want to see my daughter and son!

Shelby: They are downstairs in the children's area.

I look at her with the most pleading face.

Me: I need to see them.

she looks at me like I'm weird then leaves. when she comes back I'm almost asleep. I feel her poke my side. I open my eyes to Shelby holding my kids. I take Aidan first. I feel as if I don't pay him much attention. I hug him then kiss his head. I do the same with Nadia. I'm going to miss them.

When everyone leaves to go home and it gets dark I get out of bed and put on some scrubs. I wait till I don't see anyone in the hallways. when the coast is clear I leave the room. I know this hospital. I know where all the hiding places are. I get through the hospital without being seen. when I walk out the front door I head towards my destination. I know what I have to do. if Shane can't live. neither can I. I walk towards the bridge that is over the lake. when I get their I stand over the side. some cars honk their horns at me. this one lady get out of her car. she's trying to get me to come down from the ledge but I can't. I need Shane. without him I wont beable to do anything. Next thing I know their are cops around me trying to get me to come down but I can't. I look back in the direction of the hospital and whisper under my breath " You did this to me Shane." . I fall.
