I pulled my long tatty brown hair up into a bun as I walked down the stairs trying to make as little noise as possible hoping my mum wouldn't notice me sneaking out.
"Dont even think about it mel"my mum shouted as I triped over one of my little brothers toys at the bottom of the stairs.
"shit" I muttered under my breath.
"go back upstairs and finish your homework" my mum added as I walked into the kitchen
"please mum"i whined "I'll be an hour I promise I've finished all my course work"i added jumping up onto the counter.
"you promised you'd look after your brother"she sighed getting frustrated.
"I will look after tom I'll only be gone an hour"i pleaded
"fine"she muttered not looking up from her laptop
"thanks love you"i psaid jumping of the counter and kissing her on the cheek.
"be careful its nearly dark" she added just as I was leaving the room
"I'm always careful"i added sarcastically Leaving before she could tell me off I pulled my plaid shirt on over my T-shirt and grabbed my skateboard from the porch walking onto the road and getting onto my skateboard I swerved a little as I started but I soon gained my balance as I skated past the houses on my street turning at the end of the street into the park
I would usually go straight to the skate park but it was monday so it would be full of the people I'd spent the last 6 years trying to ignore so skating through the park would have to do It sounds stupid that I would be ignoring all the poeple in my year but that was me melissa carter the unnoticeable girl I'd spent the last 6 years being unnoticeable and it had worked its not like I didnt have any friends I did I had calum and kate who had been my friends since primary and they only lived across the road from me I realised I'd been lost in my thoughts for the last couple of minutes and had been going round the same paths so I turned the corner and went down the slight slope I'd done this so many times I wasn't paying any attention as I mindlessly turned the corner only to run straight into someone sending me flying straight of my board hitting my head on the floor knockin me out cold

"shit"i muttered referring to the sharp pain in my head as I opened my eyes slightly
"oh my god thank god your okay you've been out cold for like 5 minutes I thouht id killed you" a voice above me said as I sat up slightly looking up at the person who had just spoken to me it was a boy with blonde hair and blue eyes I recognised him
"are you okay?" he asked looking at me worried
"ermm yeah I think" I muttered as I stood up brushing he dirt of my shorts and tights feeling the sharp pain in my head
"shit you're bleeding" the boy gasped pointing to my head just the mention of blood made me feel faint the boy grabbed my arm steadying me
"I -I'm fine"i stuttered
"your not" he said staring at me
"I'll just leave you alone now" I muttered giving him a fake smile staring to walk over to where my skateboard was lying as I felt blood drip down my face I took my shirt of and held it to my head trying to stop the bleeding
"your not please let me help you"he said standing infront of me
"I don't even know you"i said trying to push past him bit he was to strong
"well im luke hemmings im in your form and most of you classes and I have been for the last six years now will you let me help you?" he asked smirking at me
"okay fine maybe I do know you doesnt mean I want you to know me"i almost shouted at him
"you're melissa carter you're friends with that asian boy and the girl with the red hair" he said smugly folding his arms across his chest
"its mel and calums not asian"i shouted again
"look this is all my fault and your probably going to need stitches can I atleast take you to the hospital" he said moving some of my hair out of the cut on my head
"I'll be fine please just go" I pleaded
"just let me help you" he smiled I wasnt going to lie he looked cute when he smiled
"fine"i muttered his smile causing to finally give in as I picked my board up off the floor
"so mel what are you doing skating around a dark park?"luke asked as we walked through the park towards town I didn't reply I didnt want to talk to him I didn't want him to know more about me I wanted to continue being unnoticeable "there is a skate park you know which is designed for skating"he added
"I was trying to avoid bumping into you and your stupid friends"i said picking up the pace slightly I just wanted this whole situation to be over
"oww harsh"he laughed catching up to me
"why werent you with them anyway?"I asked taking the attention away from myself
"I needed some time to think" he shrugged I had to admit he was cute and its not like I'd never noticed that before because every single girl in the school had thought that luke was the guy everyone wanted to know everyone wanted to ne friends with everyone except me

we had walked the rest of the way to A&E in complete silence which wasn't far the walk between the park and the hospital was about 10 minutes we were now sat in a depressing waiting room
"you're really good"luke spoke up after a while
"what?"I asked confused
"you're a really good skateboarder"he said as if it was obvious
"and how would you know?"I asked turning to face him taking my shirt away from my head I was pretty sure it had stopped bleeding anyway
"I was watching you thats why we ermm collided"he said running his hand throught his perfectly quiffed blonde hair
"well you're pretty good"i muttered I would like to and pretend I was just returning the compliment but however much I hated luke and his friends they were all pretty good skateboarders
"did you just compliment me?"he laughed
"melissa carter" a nurse shouted before I had a chance to reply to luke I stood up and picked up my skateboard up
"look you can go you didnt even have to come in the first place"i said facing luke
"its all right I'll wait I feel kind off responseable for this"he smiled I sighed before walking over to were the nurse was standing
20 minutes later walked out of the doctors room about and back in to the waiting room walking over to the receptionists desk signing some forms
"so...?"luke asked walking over to me
"erm just a couple of stitches"i answered walking out of A&E
"oh well thats not to bad"he smiled I gave him a sarcastic smile
"let me walk you home?" he asked dropping his skateboard to the floor HOME shit I'd promised mum I'd be an hour but I'd been atleast two
"I've got to go"i blurted jumping on my skate board and skateing off leaving luke stood outside the hospital with a confused expression
