"Mel hurry up!" My mum screamed at me from downstairs as I shoved all my folders into my bag. i pulled my hoodie on checking my appearance I the mirror I hated the school uniform I mean it's not like I wore it properly my shirt was never tucked in my hair was never tied back, my tie was never straight, and my skirt was probably to short but I didn't care nobody in my school obeyed the uniform rules.
I brushed through my hair trying to style it to cover he small cut on my forehead but it was no use so I just pulled a beanie on and picked up my rucksack slinging it onto my back.
"MEL!"my mum shouted again as I ran down he stairs.
"Calum and Katie are outside hurry up!"she added as I walked into the kitchen
"I'm going"I muttered as I sipped some juice from the carton
"stop that! And go"my mum said snatching the carton from me
"have a good day" she smiled handing me back my phone which she had taken off me last night when I'd come home late
"thanks"I answered as I left the room almost running to the front door after I realised how late I was.I opened the door to be greeted by Calum and Katie
"hiya"I smiled stepping onto the street it's was actually quite a nice day
"what happened to you last night?"Katie asked as we turned into the park for a short cut
"what do you mean?"I asked confused
"you weren't answering your phone"she answered said it was obvious
"and you came back really late I saw you at like 10"Calum added
"and what the hell have you done to your head?"Katie laughed pointing to the cut on my forehead
"I got into a sort of skateboarding accident" I muttered pulling my beanie forward
"what did you do this time?"Katie asked rolling her eyes
"and how could it be a sort of accident"Calum added moving his dark brown hair of his face as we walked out of the park and onto the high street
"Coffee?"i asked as we walked past the small coffee shop I worked at and where we stopped most mornings
"Definitely,I need caffeine!"Katie almost shouted as we walked in
"You still need to tell us what happened with your head" Calum said as we walked up to the counter. Damn my subject change didn't work
"Sort of had this collision with this guy"i said as fast as I could before walking up to the counter "hey dan"i smiled at the dark haired boy standing behind the counter
"Hi Mel" he smiled back as he fixed his fringe "cinnamon latte"he said taking the words right out of my mouth "and hazelnut mocha and coffee two sugars"dan said turning and pointing to Katie and Calum
"Of course" Katie smiled as we all handed dan our money
"So who was this guy?"Katie asked turning back to face me
"Luke hemmings" I muttered almost under my breath
"You what?"Katie shouted man this girl was loud. I was surprised she'd even herd me
"Really? That's hilarious where all his mates there as well?"Calum asked in between laughing
"No it was just him it was most of the awkward moments in my life and it's not fucking funny hood"I said hitting Calum in the stomach
"Luke Hemmings could knock me out any day" Katie said as dan handed us our drinks "I don't understand why you don't like him?" She said sipping her drink
"Because him and his friends are jerks!"I said instantly regretting it because he wasn't a jerk last night he was really nice I was a bitch "can we just now" I huffed frustrated
"fine"katie muttered I had no idea why Calum and Katie had stuck by me for so long most of the time i was a complete bitch. I was about to apologise to katie for being a bitch but i was stopped by dan tapping me on the shoulder
"hey mel do you mind coming to work a little earlier today?"dan blurted he said the sentence so fast i wasnt 100% certain what he had said "beacause kayla is doing something with mark and apparently my sister is just aloud to skip work to be with her boyfriend"dan huffed he was always annoyed with kaylas constant reluctancy to help "so could you possibly come in at 1?"he pleaded
"of course i will!"i smiled I've worked with dan for almost two years I owed his family a lot I'm not exactly the best employee "I better go see you later" I added noticing Calum and Katie where waiting outside
We walked the rest of the way to school in silence we didn't usually talk much in the mornings but I liked it that way
as we walked through the school gates I could almost feel the anxiety set in as it did every day,I don't know what it was about school that made me feel this way I'd made it to sixth forum with nothing happening I'd just beer managed to get over it
"Come on"Calum said bringing me out of my daydream slinging his arm around my shoulder and almost dragging me to our form room where we slumped in our seats and ignored what ever Mr Jones was talking about until the bell rang
I spent the next three hours of classes mainly daydreaming and making small conversation with Calum and Katie
until the lunch bell finally rang
I rushed out of school trying to get away as fast as I could. I really hated this place. I pulled my phone out of my pocket to check the time I started to text dan to tell him I was on my way, not noticing where I was going I walked straight into someone sending my phone straight onto the floor why'd I have to be so clumsy
"Sorry"i muttered as I looked up at the person I'd just bumped into his shiny blue eyes instantly meeting mine
Luke
"It's fine, here" he smiled handing me my phone
"Ermm thanks"i muttered instantly turning into my awkward self who couldn't communicate with human beings
"Where are you off to in such a rush?"Luke asked innocently. why'd he have to continue the conversation
"Work"i answered blatantly
"Skipping school not something I had you down for Melissa"he said his lips curling into a smirk. did this boy not know when to shut up? I mean could he please just leave me alone? And why'd have use my full name when I'd told him at least twice that it was Mel?
"Incase you hadn't noticed we are in sixth form which means we are under no legal obligation to attend school so if you'll excuse me I need to be somewhere"i said as confident as i could pushing passed him
A/N Hiii the endings crap I know but if I'd put what I'm going to put in the next chapter in it would have been extremely long so yeah!
