"I can't I have work"I mumbled after thinking for a moment. As much as I wanted to spend time with Luke it was becoming hard to put off seeing Dan any longer.
"Oh right"he said giving me a weak smile.
"Uh sorry but I should really go" smiled trying to gather up my things. Luke stood up them grabbed my hands to help me up. "I'm really sorry about all this"I mumbled.
"Hey, it's fine. I'm just glad you're okay, you scared the shit out of me"he laughed. I nervously laughed as I pulled my bag over my shoulder. I could feel my phone buzzing in my hoodie pocket I quickly pulled it out and checked the caller ID. "Coffee shop boy?"Luke asked raising his eyebrows.
"I'd better go"I said shoving my phone back into my pocket. Before I could walk away Luke wrapped his arms around my waist pulling me into his chest.
"Before you go, are you free this Saturday"he smirked
"I might be"I smiled playing with the ends of his hoodie.
"Maybe you'd like to hangout?"he asked nervously.
"Is this you asking me out?"
"Yes it is"he laughed
"Well then yes I'd love to hangout with you"I laughed "can I go now?"I smirked.
"One more thing"he said before pressing his lips to mine. Our kiss was short and quick but still long enough to make my stomach explode.
"B-bye" I muttered failing to regain my calm. He giggled slightly before letting go of my waist.

As much as I'd put off seeing Dan for the past week, the closer I got to work the more exited I felt. It had been nearly a week since I'd stormed out the coffee shop after the confession. I still wasn't sure how to react to it. But not speaking to him was driving me crazy!
So when I walked through the door I couldn't stop myself from running over to Dan and throwing my arms around him. Which sent us both flying backwards knocking down three stacks of paper cups on the way down.
"Oh crap I'm so sorry that was a stupid idea. I don't know what came over me? Are you okay? Seriously I'm so sorry"I rambled quickly trying to untangle myself from on top of Dan.
"Shut up you stupid idiot"he laughed hauling himself off the floor. His larger body now unintentionally pinning me to the counter.
"I missed you"I smiled ignoring how close we were.
"I really missed you too"he laughed tucking some lose hair behind my ear.
"Hi, could you put down your sketty girlfriend and serve me coffee"some guy taunted from by the counter.
I quickly wriggled out of dan's grasp and made my way to the kitchen. As soon as the door slammed shut behind me, tears started flooding down my cheeks. I didn't know why this was getting to me. Usually this wouldn't even bother me, but right now all I wanted to do was cry. So I did. I pathetically sobbed into my sleeves.
As soon as I heard footsteps coming towards the door I straightened up and started mindlessly shoving items into the dishwasher. Hoping someone who knew me better than myself wasn't going to notice me crying.
"What an asshole"Dan sneered as the door shut behind him.
"Mel?" Dan asked after a short pause. I nodded slowly biting my lip to stop me from sobbing. "Are you okay?"he asked slowly moving closer to me. I shook my head letting out a small sob.
Before I could say anything else Dan pulled me in close letting me sob into his chest.
"Mel I don't care if you don't love me back. I just need you to know that I'm always here for you"
