The days dragged on and on as Zircon guarded the Chrysoberyl returning after her first couple of samples withered away. The had returned to earth to acquire fresh ones, so there they were. Zircon was further out in the field training a bit, and Chrysoberyl collected fresh and even a few new samples.  The pair hardly talked due to their first interactions with each other at the start of the mission, though Chrysoberyl would ask for assistance when her strength wasn't up to par to acquire a sample from within the ground.

Chrysoberyl huffed as she looked down to find a brightly colored rock in the dirt, she bent over to pick it up and attempted to unearth it to no avail. She looked up to the gem who was swinging around her Scythe and huffed once again. "Excuse me." She called out softly, her arms crossed as she watched the zircon stare at her with annoyance. "I-I need help.. this sample is stuck, please retrieve it.." Chrysoberyl tightened her grasp around herself as the blue gem walked over, dropping her scythe, it vanishing before it hit the ground. Zircon was mere inches from her as she gave a gruff. "where?" To which Chrysoberyl pointed down near their feet, Zircon looked at where the chartreuse gem pointed, she saw the brightly colored rock. It was a lovely turquoise colored rock, it having visible streaks of green and blue coinciding with each other round it surface.

"Hmm." Zircon marveled at it for a bit, memorised by the colors. Chrysoberyl watched with intrigue, throughout their month of working with one another she had never seen this look on Zircon's face. Zircon had a look of interest on her face, it being exceedingly rare to see that since nothing interested her. After a couple of minutes Zircon bent over, effortlessly taking out the rock ,once she had a good hold on it, and plopped it into Chrysobeyl's hand she then walked away and started to train again. Chrysoberyl looked down to the stone that was a bit bigger then her palm, then she placed it into a pocket in her coat watching the steel blue gem train sitting down. She stayed like this for the remainder of their scheduled time on Earth.

Once her viser went off, signalling that their time was up she called out to the gem. "Zircon!" She called out softly, her tone no longer showing fear nor impatience. She sounded as if she was calling out a friend, Zircon noticed this and turned to her. She saw the chartreuse gem waving at her, waving as if she was trying to call over a friend. Zircon was not used to this, at all, it caused her cheeks to turn a darker shade, it was faint but noticeable. Chrysoberyl actually saw herself in Zircon now, that look of fascination she felt for the rock was what Chrysoberyl felt every time she went to a new planet. "Let's go.. Our time is up here..." Chrysoberyl said softly, walking onto the warp pad. Zircon followed, her blush dying down as she stood silently next to the chartreuse gem. The two warped back, Chrysoberyl was the first to speak, it was a quick "Here" as she dropped the stone into Zircon's hand and scurried off to her lab to run more tests on the new and fresh samples.

Zircon stared at the gem scurry off, but once she was gone she turned to the stone in her hand. Zircon felt something strange, a feeling she never felt  it was close to the feeling she felt during battle. It was a burning sensation in her stomach, it caused her heart to race.  And for the first time in her life, Zircon was scared. This feeling made her head feel light, she heard her name being called but didn't bother to look up. She quickly activated the warp pad to go back to the zone in which they met. She growled as she threw the stone a long way away, her face was hard to read due to the MANY emotions she felt right now. She felt anger, confusion, dread, and annoyance that she felt any of this. As Zircon was having a mini crisis on Earth, Chrysoberyl felt as if she brought the two closer.

She smiled as she remembered the look on Zircon's face at the sight of the gem, her cheeks darkening a bit as she dropped a sample on accident, she huffed as she finished cleaning it. She leaned onto the counter, smiling softly. "I hope.. We can get closer.." She sighed in longing as Holly Blue walked in and started to question her on their mission to Earth.
