Alone Together

Zircon and Chrysoberyl both stayed like that for what seemed like an eternity, until Tiger came sprinting out of the shuttle. "Guys!" She ran over to them, quickly explaining. "The Diamond's just issued for us to take care of another riot in sector 10435, agates are being sent here to handle the rest." She then huffed out of breath, looking over to Zircon confused. "What's wrong?" 

Zircon looked up at her, eyes raging with a thousand versions of rage, but feeling Chrysoberyl shift on her lap she began to calm down, inhaling deeply she looked at her. "I'm not going... You three handle it then come back..."

Tiger looked at her in confusion, about to speak before Nikky interjected. "Zircon, No. This is an order from the Diamonds, we must do as comm-!" 

Nikky summoned her spear just in time as Zircon's scythe nearly sliced through her neck. "I said you three go." Her voice was cold and hollow, the hand that held her scythe began to drop as the other held Chrysoberyl protectively. "That is an order from the Gem Reaper, I suggest you follow it before you face a fate worse than the diamonds could ever imagine." She growled as the small feline looked rather worried. Tiger and Pip where both shocked as they looked at the two. Nikky wasn't one to back down, she and Zircon where the same in that aspect but Nikky knew she couldn't make Zircon do anything she didn't want to. No Gem could, well, no normal gem could. 

The two glared daggers at each other for a few moments before Nikky sighed, lowering her weapon, Zircon doing the same. "Let's go you two," She said in a defeated and irritable tone. "We have to fulfill our duties."  She said in a low voice, turning her back and heading toward the ship. Pip and Tiger began to look between the two, both of their mouths dropped open. They then turned to look at each other as Zircon disintegrated her weapon. 

"H-Hey Zircon, are yo-" Pip began to speak before being cut off.

"Leave already Brat, you too Tiger. And stay gone why don't you." She growled as Pip whimpered. Tiger sighing as she nodded her head. 

"Come on Pip's leave Zircon alone." Tiger said softly as she headed off toward the ship. Pip looked at Zircon then to Chrysoberyl, a ping of jealousy running through her tiny body. She loved Zircon, and it hurt her to see Zircon being so gentle and caring for a gem who wasn't even a gem anymore. They couldn't talk, they couldn't watch Zircon's back, they couldn't protect her like Pip had learned to and had been doing for so long. Though this emotion was growing stronger and stronger the longer she looked at them, she felt happy for Zircon. She was happy that she found someone, someone who made Zircon happy. Yes, it hurt her but to her all she wanted was for Zircon's happiness. She too gave a small sigh before giving a rather heart-broken smile. "But you aren't alone, aren't you..?" She said to herself as she began to walk away. "You're with her... but still.." She made her way to the ship turning to see the feared Gem Reaper still on the ground with the small feline. "You two are alone together.." She said as the ship's doors began to shut. The ship then began to take off, leaving the two gems in the graveyard of their fallen comrades.
