The Gem Reaper

Upon Zircon's arrival to the hub she was met with a familiar Agate. Holly Blue looked down to Zircon in disgust. 

"What do you want?" Zircon spat, giving Holly a rather sinister look. 

"You have been assigned another mission.." Holly said, clearly trying to remain calm. "You are to protect a Chrysoberyl as she tests the area..." The agate looked to her report. "The Chrysoberyl you are guarding is already starting her tests..." Holly skimmed through more of the report. "She is on Earth in facet.." Holly continued to speak, but Zircon then thought about the gem she met before she left. She recalled the annoyance the other Gem brought her in the mere moments of them meeting, she felt she would require another guard just to prevent Zircon from poofing her form from near irritation. 

"Zircon!" Holly's voice broke her out of her train of thought. Zircon looked up to see an agitated Holly. "Just get it done. As of now, you are to also be her partner. If she is unable to do something and required assistance you are to help her. Is that understood?" The agate glared down at the Zircon who looked at bored as ever. 

"Yeah, Yeah." Zircon waved her hand dismissively through the air, walking back to the warp pad. "Whatever Agate." She stepped onto the warp pad, giving Holly a playful smirk. "Whatever the lady wants.." The warp pad was then activate again, and Zircon returned to Earth.

Upon her arrive she saw the gem she met previously admiring the grass, and marveling the ground it grew on. Her viser's hologram full of notes and calculations on which they could build a kindergarten here and about the time its should be complete and the amount of gem soldiers they could produce. Zircon's face was one of shock and confusion, yet she was impressed on how quickly this gem was able to produce her calculations. "HEY!" Zircon shouted out, the Chrysoberyl ahead of her gave a shriek as she jolted up from her squatting position. The Chrysoberyl's face grew hot in anger yet more so embarrassment for her reaction. 

"What do you want?" She asked in a tame yet irritated tone, she closing off her notes quickly and turned off the viser to stare at the Zircon assassin before her. 

A smirk graced Zircon's features as she thought the reaction was rather cute. "I'm here to do you bidding.. And protect you.." As she spoke Zircon had walked toward the Chrysoberyl and kneeled before her. "That is my duty now.."
 
Chrysobeyl's cheeks darkened in their green color, her face admitting a bit of heat. She was a bit confused, yet flattered by the Zircon's words then to be heard with chuckling. She looked down at Zircon who was still at her feet, rising up as she continued to laugh. Chrysoberyl was confused as Zircon held her abdomen in the middle of her laughter.  Her confusion vanished as Zircon spoke. "Haha! You actually fell for that crap?!" Zircon stopped laughing, and looked at the chrysoberyl with an amused look. "I guess I was wrong about how smart you are..." Zircon teased. Chrysoberyl felt ashamed, her cheek darkened even more in embarrassment as tears welled in her eyes due to the immense anger she felt. Zircon noticed this, though she felt a bit of remorse not used to seeing people cry due to her teasing she held up her though front. "Awe.. Are you going to cry?" She asked, then looked at her as she grinned. "Chrysoberyl was too long anyway.. So i'll call you Chry, since the first time we met formally... You cried." Zircon's remorse had dissipated as she talked, her face looking down at the teary eyed gem with disgust and resentment. Through Zircon's little rant, Chrysoberyl's tears fell as she finished and ended with that look of disgust, Chrysoberyl clenched her fists as she snapped, a rare occurrence for the gem due to their usual tame and shy demeanor, yet Zircon tended to bring out the worst in people.

"You do not need to be so rude you Clod!" Chrysoberyl retorted. "Just because you can not fit into regular gem society because you are defective does not mean you get to take you trangrations out on me! I work hard for my Diamond and homeworld! While all you have ever done is mess up! You are lucky that Our Diamond saw a use for you! Instead of shattering you like the defect you are!" Chrysoberyl then did something completely out of character as Zircon looked down at her in bored irritation, but Chrysoberyl's words actually stinging her a bit. As Chrysoberyl ended her tangent, she raised her hand and slapped Zircon. Zircon let her hit, and stayed in that position for a bit, both of them in shock of what just happened. About a minute later, Zircon grabbed Chrysoberyl's wrist pulling her closer as her hand then moved to her neck effortlessly she lifted the chrysoberyl into the air. Zircon then looked up to her soon to be victim, her eyes clouded with rage as her grip tightened around the other's neck. Chrysoberyl trying desperately to free herself from Zircon's grasp.

"L-let go! Y-your mission it t-to" Zircon's grip got incredibly tight, causing the other gem to pant as it strained her to speak. "Prot-" Before Chrysoberyl could finish her sentence she was thrown onto the ground, she experienced a coughing fit as she gently held her hand over her neck. The dirt kicked up due to her collision with the ground not helping one bit, she looked up through squinted eyes as Zircon's voice was cold and menacing.

"Do that again, and I'll show you just how defective I am." She stated, glaring down to the gem panting on the floor. She then walked past her, walking back to the plains. "Call me if you need assistance." She air quoted as she said assistance, walking a bit further into the plains needing to be alone. "Whether you like it or not Nerd, we're partners. I suggest you learn to take a joke.." That was the last thing Zircon said before they were no longer in hearing distance.

Chrysoberyl, still on the floor, watched Zircon leave she felt dread wash over her as she realized this could be a living hell. She got up, dusted her coat, and continued to take samples trying to hurry. No longer wanting to be alone with the infamous Gem Reaper.
