The Gem Reaper

Training

 It had been two long years since Spinal made a name for herself and convinced Zircon to train her. Zircon was merciless and cause much psychological damage to Pip, she began to slowly show a dark side. She became just as sadistic as Zircon at times, playing with her victims giving them a small glimpse of victory before quickly shattering it into a million pieces by pinning them down with her weapon.

It was a handle scythe with a chain connecting them both, she would wrap them in the chain and propel the blades into the ground rendering them immobile. The would struggle to get free as she would summon another one to drag across their gem. Zircon eventually got accustomed to her little friendly outbursts. She didn't enjoy them, but got used to them and would use it as a reward if they were assigned to a mission that she executed perfectly.

 Today wasn't a training day though, today was the day Zircon would vanish and Pip wouldn't see her till the next day. Though today Pip wanted to figure out where her trainer vanished to.

Pip would carefully follow Zircon as she left Pink Diamond's court for the day, going to the warp pad. Zircon stepped onto the warp and went to a  familiar field. She then went to a whole not far from the pad and sat down. She crossed her legs and folded her hands on her lap. She closed her eyes as she listened to the wind howling, it causing a rustling in the grass. Pip warped not long after, causing a small blip sound the warp would make. She yelped as she hid behind the warp, laying on her stomach to hide her body. Zircon's eyes snapped open as she turned around, getting up and calling out in a cold, stern voice. "Who's there..." She said, walking slowly to the warp. 

Pip's head was racing as she debated what to do, she knew either way Zircon would be upset and she'd end up getting punished. She groaned softly as she jolted up, bowing and apologizing. "I am so sorry! I- I just wanted to see where you went! I-" 

"You brat." She spat, glaring down to the gem, she now atop the warp. Her voice was cold and condescending. She hopped off the warp, not in front of the trembling Pip. "That's it..." She summoned her weapon, crashing it down to where Pip was before she jumped back. "You want to train so bad? Then now you train against me..." She rushed toward her, Pip squealing as she jumped up into the air. She quickly summoned her weapon as she threw the other end of it to ground a fair bit away quickly pulling herself away as Zircon jumped up and sliced at the air in which Pip was. 

Pip looked at Zircon who had her eyes locked onto her. Pip's gem(heart) dropped as she saw those enraged and soulless eyes set on her. She whimpered as she took the end out of the dirt and readied to fight. Zircon rushed at her again, Pip jumped up but hooked her chair around Zircon's navel, matching up with the belt on her skirt. Pip pulled herself down while she pulled Zircon up to her, Pip's knees coming into contact with Zircon's back. They both plummeted to the ground, dirt being kicked up as the collided with the ground. Pip fled right after the collision taking her chain with her, Zircon got up slowly. She was a bit shock and impressed truthfully. She doubted that Pip would be able to hit her. 

Zircon chuckled as she slowly rose, that chuckling turning to full blown laughter as she looked to Pip. Her face dark as her hair covered half of her face. One eye showing it was full of amusement while the grin on her face caused any sense of security to vanish. Pip gulped as she held her ground, that's she notices the ribbon attached Zircon's scythe was gone. Pip looked around as she gasped, it was too late. She felt something coil around her leg, then her body was lifted into the air and thrown from side to side. Zircon walked over as the ribbon let her go. smashing her into the ground. Dirt flew up, creating a bit of a cover for Pip but she couldn't move. The dirt began to clear and she could see Zircon's figure hovering above her. Her eyes wrenched shut as she expected the worst only to be greeted with a small huff. 

"Good fight, Brat," She said in a playful tone, her hand was extended to Pip who looked confused. "Hurry up, we don't have all day." She spat in a rather annoyed tone, pulling Pip up from the ground. Pip looked at Zircon who still had a bit of dirt on her. 

"What's happening," Pip asked, looking worried. She expected Zircon to snap and send her flying but was greeted with a friendly chuckle. 

"You did good kid." She said softly, patting Pip's head. "You managed to land a hit on me, and I wasn't going easy on you either." She gave a charming smile, Pip's face tinted pink as she saw it. Pip pulled away as she shook her head, dusting herself off. 

"S-so.. you're my sparring partner now...?" Pip asked timidly. Zircon nodded as she looked at her

"Problem?" She asked.

"N-no!" Pip stuttered. "I-i'm just nervose it all..." She admitted.

Zircon scoffed. "You should be. But,"  Zircon held up her thumb. "That's fine." She sounded so different like it was a completely different gem. Her tone was jolly and full of life. 

Pip smiled softly as she nodded, she then figured it out. Zircon hadn't had an actual fight for many years, many gems throw themselves at her feet once she was there. And he quarls with Holly Blue vanished too once she was assigned to train Pip. Pip had brought Zircon a bit of joy for allowing her to fulfill her original purpose.

"Let's go back Brat" 

Pip nodded as they hopped onto the warp pad and headed back to Pink Diamond's court.
